Patch: fix the flowchart diagram in the dw::Table class docs

The main body of the dw::Table class documentation starts with a flowchart diagram of some dw::Table method calls. But this diagram refers to a method dw::Table::calcColumnExtremes() that is no longer used and has been renamed to dw::Table::_unused_calcColumnExtremes(). (There is a warning that GROWS made some of this documentation obsolete.) So I dug into the code and came up with a patch that I think fixes the diagram. I have attached before and after images of the diagram so that you can compare. Documentation in the tarball?

Hi! Does it make sense to include all developer documentation into the tarball? As an alternative, only user documentation, plus a notice where to find the developer docs, could be included, while the rest can only be found in the repository at hg.dillo.org. I assume that someone who is interested in the internals of dillo will anyway refer to the lastest version from the Hg repository. Keeping it out of the tarball would have advantages: - It makes the tarball smaller. - We developers would not have to think that much about file sizes of the documentation: these files do not go into the tarball; and for those using the lastest version from the Hg repository, it should be reasonable to spend some more disc space. (I hope you will take this in the light-hearted tone that I wrote it. I don't often write poetry.) Oh, list moderator, help me please. I sent the list an email with attached PNGs. I saw there was a problem, had an itch to scratch. And that's why I was hoping you would take my patch. But I knew that you would need some actual evidence To show you what I'm saying really makes some sense. I saw a flowchart image in the HTML page And noticed with regret that it had rotted with age. It linked to a method that wasn't there no more And that's when I decided I should settle this score. I made a better version and then sent it to you And I chose to enclose the original too But sadly those two images were too big for the list So now now your mailer's told me I should cease and desist. Please, list moderator, let my work through. Whatever you may think I only did it for you. I have helped you before, I want to help you once more. Alternative styles support?

Hi, Dillo team. Are there plans about supporting alternative page styles? I mean, those defined by <link rel="alternate stylesheet" />. This should be really easy to be implemented. In addition, if there is defined style with name="Dillo", it can be switched by default and this way to provide better support for Dillo from the web masters. not following 301 Moved Permanently

When accessing some sites, say for example http://thepiratebay.org , wget seems to successfully follow the "301 Moved Permanently" redirects a few times, but Dillo only seems to do one redirect and then stops. The last output is: HTTP warning: Message with a body lacked Content-Type header.

I've been using dillo for my regular browsing for a few weeks longer than from when I started the thread: Secure: yes, Though Features Missing; and Bugs http://lists.dillo.org/pipermail/dillo-dev/2015-April/010495.html on dillo mailing list, and I'd like to help at least occasionally with the sole kind of contribution that I can offer: reporting like those in that link, as I'm not a developer, and can program very little only. I have a new one report. on issue that I only mentioned (and wouldn't know how to solve back then) over at: Grsecurity/Pax installation on Debian GNU/Linux http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=108616&start=60#p577608 But I can try and tell more about it as I saw the same missing edit and delete buttons in: https://forum.sleuthkit.org/ where, to verify it, one would need to register, I believe. And while that registering on a specialized tool forum can take a few hours or more time to get the maintainer's approval, true, I believe it is the same kind of missing functionality and in the Debian Forums, so I guess one can verify this behavior by, if they are not, registering into Debian Forums. I have noticed the same edit and delete buttons missing in Debian Forums too, and I choose the Sleuthkit Forum, because I'm currently posting on it, and can accomplish this report with much more ease then on Debian where I am done with my posts for some time. I have a slow and lengthy (and tiring: too advanced for me) topic on Sleuthkit Forum: An Avi Video Recovery with SleuthKit http://forum.sleuthkit.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2441 ) and I have actually managed to edit my posts, and I managed to delete one (only the post not replied to can be deleted on Sleutkit Forum). But not by clicking on the respective icons, as they don't show in dillo. But by issuing Ctrl-U to open the source of the page while logged in and having my topic opened in my dillo browser and searching for the right (relative) link under the icon 'edit-icon' or 'delete-icon' and reconstructing the right page, because that was the only way to do it. I did search thoroughly, and no link, even on empty surfaces, did I manage to detect under the mouse (as I didn't in Debian Forums either). font size / dpi

On a 125 dpi display, web pages tend to be tiny. For font_factor, dillorc claims "All font sizes are scaled by this value", but that's only true for html sizes and the css sizes like 'small' 'x-large' etc. [hmm...speaking of which, I see there's a bug in there for 'larger' and 'smaller' where we apply font_factor erroneously.] We should either change the claim or make it true. Also, I was refreshing my memory on the resolution-independent px discussion from January. Mostly it was about concern for the cost of scaling images, and I realize that we kind of have to deal with images or else everything doesn't fit together, but...it would be nice in some ways if we could at least scale font sizes by dpi (the css px ones and the assorted 14's that we have around in src/ ).

Look here, how my dillo brings pages to me currently: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1004014.html#7724054 and currently, download and open the mkv files... (So people reading later, open the, hopefully, webm files. That's how it was, talking to you in the future.) Those mkv files will, hopefully, soon be replaced with the HTML5 compliant webm files. So if opened those, that's how it shows currently. I was only able to use dillo after reverting my 1024x768 capable old monitor, to 800x600, in another display in X (:1.0 in, say, ffmpeg command line), else, I would have gone blind from effort to read. And I still have difficulty reading some of the pages. ##################################################################### The Homepage is particularly too hard to read for, I guess at least a non-insignificant though small percentage (no, not less than a small percentage number, it's not insignificant!) of visitors. The background must be very light. As soon as it is too dark, the font is not easily readable. ##################################################################### I'm not at poor-accessibility eyesight yet, I don't have problems with most of pages. I really don't. Pls. take notice of this claim of mine and value the outlined paragraph with respect to that claim! I hope this will help dillo homepage become more readable. So, first I really need the fonts, and will follow your kind advice, eocene, on the fonts, as soon as I find more free time. domainrc is great thing to try to sort too, but the other issue is urgent. Hi! To me it is most important to avail myself of the security that dillo pretty much provides to me. What I can say, and recommend to anybody who has problems with `bulk collection' that they see in typical kind of actions deployed inside or on the way to, or on the way from, their machines... Sadly with `bulk collection' (previously known as `mass surveillance'; it comprises data harvesting and more) often go even worse kind of actions in privacy-repressive regimes: intrusions, even attacks... What I can say, is: I have so much fewer cases of the aforementioned issues when browsing with dillo, then I do when I have to, due to Javascript haven't yet been implemented in dillo, [than when I have to] use SchmoogleFox. So much fewer of those kind of problems! And yes, the Google, the Octopus of the Internet and the Surveillance Engine of the World, yes the Schmoog is sitting in the Firefox, in most of the regular users' machines who little depart from default configuration, and I don't think Mozilla harvesting itself can be easily disabled (you may remove direct Google harvesting/spying/other, but the Mozilla cloud is there, rest assured, for Google to use, fully!), and you can not, not that I know of an easy way --disprove me somebody!-- easily disable harvesting in Firefox... The security of dillo is generally such that I can usually rest calmly when I browse with dillo. And so I can recommend dillo to anybody who has problems with censorship, and when censorship of an oppressive regime is revealed, usually some kind of intrusion attempts, and/or attacks, are made against the one who managed to reveal it. Before I close this first message, I'd like to show you this page where I demonstrated not just how the first Firefox harvest looks like on a Chinese style censorship deployed on dissenters in Croatia (that part is already posted: Google - can not open any link - malware ?? https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-912056-start-25.html#7715646 but that topic I plan to improve adn add more content to yet) You can see that while I'm not really a programmer, I dabble with some ideas. Not when posting a completely new post, but after editing an already existing post. It is easy to circumvent it, by simply, after having posted the previously edited post in question, refreshing the page which the post appears in. You can often see text literally changing upon refreshing it. The bug often occurs `in reverse', concerning posting. What I mean, is if you open a post for at least the third time --yes it must be a problem related to dillo caching; I understand so much even though I'm not a programmer, but just an advanced user-- so [if you open a post for the third time for editing], unless you refresh the editing texarea, in the same fashion: by clicking on the "Reload" button, you miight find yourself inadvertently to be editing the text that you posted the time before last, and not the immediately previous edit to this third edit of that text (even though the last text, the immediately previous, has, obviously, also been already committed, and should have been shown to you). The other bug, or is it my misconfiguration, or is it something else, I will try and write about in my next post. I sure will try and prepare the next message sson, and send it in a matter of hours or maximally a day or two. But if it does not arrive, the likelihood is that it is waiting for spies at my providers' to read it, and decide whether to send it on, or filter it out and not send it to dillo mailing list at all. Documentation fixes

I have four documentation patches ready for review that came from looking at the doxygen error output. The first is the upgrade to Doxyfile, the other three are small fixes to errors that doxygen happened to notice. Problem with page positioning.

Hi all. It is my first post on this mailing list. I want to use Dillo as a HTML help browser for my program. I need it, because it has faster startup time and this is very important for a help system, where the user presses F1 and expects the help to open instantly. (What is not the case with all other browsers). Anyway, the problem I have is that when starting Dillo with URL that contains local anchor ID, it first positions properly, but short time later, (when the CSS get loaded?) it repositions the page and the needed element moves somewhere else, very far from the current page position. Example that can be tested: http://fresh.flatassembler.net/index.cgi?page=content/articles/2_FreshLibDo… Once the page is loaded (on the wrong position), pressing Ctrl+R or clicking on "Reload" button, repositions the page to the proper position. Is this problem can be easily solved? I can try to fix it by myself, but my C/C++ skills are very low and then I will need some assistance. Dillo documentation delivered daily

My website is up again[1] and I have added a daily build of the Dillo documentation (having noticed that the version on the Dillo site is over a year old). Doxygen generates quite a few errors when building the docs. I would like to fix them (if only to have less noise from my cron jobs). Would the Dillo devs be interested in the patches? Core-dump pasting from one form field into another

Hello All, This is exercisable in Dillo 3.0.4.1, but not new. I found it by accident in my hack-up of Dillo 3.0.4. The reproduction is: - enable cookies for .google.com - navigate to https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html - fight the links until you get a screen with two fields, one for the username and one for the password - type something into the username field - select it and drag to the password field -- core dump I am on: - OSX 10.6.8 - Dillo 3.0.4.1 with SSL enabled - FLTK 1.3.3 - with dpid, etc from Dillo 3.0.4 with extensive hacking so the fault could be Mac-specific. Essentially the same fault (in Fl::dnd()) is reproducible in clean Dillo 3.0.4, with FLTK 1.3.2, clean dpid, etc, so I *think* it's not a product of my hackery. Clean Dillo 3.0.4 does not report the CGContextSetShouldAntialias and related errors, so I *think* that they are unrelated. Some errors and backtrace below. So far, I have not reproduced this fault in the FLTK input test program. Does anyone have a favourite piece of form html for me to try, to see if we can get out of needing gmail for the reproduction. I've consistently noticed that the image in the upper left corner of http://forum.thinkpads.com doesn't finish drawing initially. If I isolate the image or click to a second page, it'll show the whole thing properly.

How to do a local install?

It's taken me a while to get around to trying to install from the git repository. With experimental stuff, I prefer to do things in my local directory, so that if it blows up, it doesn't blow up with root permissions. I've done this in the past with other software, so I think it can be done. Note that I'm running in Gentoo, if it makes any difference. I have fltk-1.3.2 installed with USE="opengl threads xft" enabled and other fltk options disabled. I was looking at why the page numbers at the bottom of a startpage search results page aren't visible. It seems that the numbers are forms with display:inline. open_form has HT2TB(html)->addParbreak (9, html->wordStyle ()); Am I correct in thinking that the assorted addParbreak()s have to come out at some point for display to work, or is there some other plan? I note that the html5 spec has: "In quirks mode, the following rules are also expected to apply: ... form { margin-bottom: 1em; }" to provide the gap in this case.

resolution independent px

Hi, attached is a patch that would enable resolution independent handling of px as described in [1]. It would result in roughly equally sized images on high and low resolution devices at the cost of a higher overhead for additional image scaling. Is there a need for something like this? Should it be enabled via config option or should we do it automatically if we detect a DPI value that differs a lot from the standard value? Hi, I noticed, that firefox and chrome render stuff differently depending on the DOCTYPE. Attached is a small example. firefox doesn't show overlapping text but dillo does. When the DOCTYPE line is removed firefox renders the page as dillo does. Wikipedia has some information about the topic at [1]. I think at some point we need to handle these cases too. - vsource request crashes when dpid isn't working. - source is slow to render, seemingly something to do with large tables. - on some sites, rendering never stops as the horizontal scrollbar shows the page growing wider and wider. - on some sites, the ending words of a line are missing. - img alt text not constrained by width/height. - --local : reload turns off URL_SpamSafe, but there it is again upon repush. - "shift+arrows in the url bar is doing nothing instead of selecting the text".

I notice that redirection defeats --local. You go to www.dillo.org and images aren't loaded. You go to dillo.org, it redirects to www.dillo.org, and images are loaded.

Seems very interesting for us as we are looking into porting a rendering engine with HTML4 support to QNX 4.25 platform. Here are our first level queries after our basic analysis: 1. First of all, a direct question. Is Dillo supported in QNX 4.25? Understood that Dillo 1 was supported in QNX6 with some issues. Can we ask a question - Why do you stop giving support for QNX in your latest versions. 2. Does Dillo support HTML 4 and CSS 2.1? 3. Is it possible to port only the rendering engine part to QNX 4.25 and use our existing web browser in QNX 4.25 to use this rendering engine? 4. Could you please share your thoughts on porting of Dillo to QNX 4.25 as it is an old version of QNX OS with no pthread support and some other limitations. 5. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server. :( (I added some mention of 3.1 and 3.0.4.1 for clarification after noticing that our ChangeLog link only shows 3.0.4.1 at the moment.) I had this happen with another file some weeks ago, and I mentioned it to Andreas, who either fixed it or it resolved on its own somehow. I don't believe I've changed anything. My umask is 0066, but that's not new at all.

Hello all, In dpid/dpid.c at about line 204, there is a todo, that dpid_idle_timeout should be configurable. I looked at how to do this sympathetically with the existing code and blocked, because the configuration file is: - having its location calculated - being opened - being scanned into heap memory several times in the existing code. My over-response is to write a library to: - private memory-map it - parse it into a linked-list in the comments in the file and - have everyone who traversed the file now traverse the linked-list On the way, we get new functionality: - the ability to record the use of a configuration item - the ability to report on unused configuration items -- which are interesting because they're probably typos Parsing dillorc with the default options uncommented, this approach is about 4* faster than the existing approach. I think that it will also have a smaller VM footprint, because we are already paying for cooked disk buffers for the same amount of file, more times. The diff is 1400 lines, so I don't expect instant rejoicing :-) The attached file contains my test-cases, shell scripts to generate some of them, that are tricky, and the diff which inserts the code into revision b185e43. Strange linebreaking when long hyphenated words appear in table cells

The attached file demonstrates the problem. The test in the first paragraph easily linebreaks to fit the width of the window because of the potential linebreaks after each hyphen. The same text inside of a table cell forces the cell to be almost as wide as the unbroken text, although some line breaking does happen. My guess is that Dillo calculates the minimum width of the table cell without accounting for potential linebreaks after hyphens in the text. However, when it later fills the cell with the text it does allow linebreaks after hyphens. If that is correct then I think Dillo should account for potential linebreaks after hyphens both when calculating the minimum width of the cell and when filling the cell with text. The current situation is inconsistent and can deliver very poor results. Regards, Jeremy Henty

I've got dillo-3.0.4 running on Gentoo linux, with fltk-1.3.2. People here seem to be running experimental "bleeding edge" versions. I assume it's from a git repo. What are the instructions to download and build dillo, preferably in my user directory? I'm aware that it may be broken on edge cases. I'm not a C programmer.
