I know technically the H1 heading tags aren't allowed between A../A, and Dillo rightfully complains about this: "a" is not allowed to contain "h1". -- closing "a" But it seems like an innocent tiny mistake. Can't dillo linkify anyways, in addition to throwing this error? Currently the link-information is lost and only accessibly if I manually view the source and copy-paste it. Other browsers (i.e. webkitgtk based ones) do this, which is quite useful.

That was me. Sorry I didn't follow this. Can you point me to the problem? The idea with redrawY is that when loading long pages we don't keep redrawing the currently visible (top) part of the page while adding text on the bottom. Obviously this only works as long as the newly incoming HTML doesn't affect the layout of the already drawn (top) part of the page. This URL reliably segfaults Dillo: http://freethoughtblogs.com/butterfliesandwheels/2014/04/where-will-brandei… I suspect this is due to a very recent change as for the past few days Dillo has been crashing a lot, which until then hadn't happened in ages. Floats are in the main repository

Hi! Finally, after a long time, floats have become stable enough to be merged into the main repository, and so become part of the next dillo release. There are still some bugs, which will hopefully be fixed soon. Notice that this does not include absolute positions, which are often used for page layouts; this is one of the next issues. Sebastian

Once you know that load_background_images can be toggled from the menu, it's good, but our css/rendering is still incomplete enough that background images obscure text rather frequently. I think load_background_images=YES by default may make the experience of trying out dillo a negative one.

I was checking what was causing the "IO_write, closing with pending data not sent" messages with background images, and at least in the case that I just dug into, it was due to display:none. Is this considered expected behaviour, or a bug, or...?

Hi, i have some problems using http://mobil.bahn.de/ with dillo. I do not understand fully what is going on there. The urls accessed are: http://mobil.bahn.de/ http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/index.shtml (via HTTP redirect) http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/0/ (=404, accessed using meta redirect) http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/0/0/ (=404, accessed using meta redirect) http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/0/0/0/ http://www.bahn.de/m/view/de/0/0/0/0/ ... (after some zeros, m/view/de is appended again) Interesting is this refresh line here (I got it using tcpflow and zcat): <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;http://www.bahn.de/m/;fitScript=0/"> dillo seems to screw it up. I do not know what the standard says here (except that meta redirect is not so nice). calling http://www.bahn.de/m/;fitScript=0/ directly, I can use that page with dillo. Another interesting thing is: That page comes without javascript (and even without that meta redirect! ) when I load it with wget. But it has javascript when accessed with dillo. Hey hey! Me and a friend are looking out for a very small browser with basic javascript integration. Iknow that dillo is ultra small thanks to FLTK - however, I also know it currently has no JS? Hi! I'd like to bring image backgrounds to a (temporary) end; before, I'd like to finish these tasks (see also doxygen documentation): - Configurability: Should there be new options, additional to "load_image"? If yes, there have to be: 1. a new option, "load_background_image", 2. a new entry in the configuration menu, and 3. a new entry in the context menu. The latter will be quite tricky, when applied to single areas for which a background image is assigned to, but an entry "load *ALL* background images" (emphasis mine) should be simple. - Security/privacy (cookies?): I'm not sure whether there is anything left to do. - Displaying image backgrounds at once, not line by line: there is already an hardcoded option, so changing is simple, even make it a user option. "background-attachment" is postponed. Furthermore, other features are missing, which make background images look strange, e. g. that you only see a part of the logo at <http://google.com>. Hello there. I just downloaded Dillo because I wanted to use it for development, obviously. However, upon building FLTK, i had to realize its not build-able - and that is more a conflict on apple?s side. Once the Carbon headers are refferenced, i get a miles-long error message (it took me a while to find the top of all that O.o). Will Dillo stay with FLTK or are there plans to move on with a newer GUI? Kind regards, Ingwie

Hi Sebastian, After changeset 1a8661485c0b and e40f77531b5e, the bookmarks page is rendered with the largest width I've seen. As the patches deal with table apportioning, probably there's a small bug lurking there. I've also found another couple of test pages of mine (from my table apportioning test set) that also show the effect. It happens with tables using "width=AUTO with cells widths in percentages". socks proxy possible?

Hello, I wanted to use dillo with a socks proxy (using ssh -D portnumber), however, I was not successful. ( I did export http_proxy=127.0.0.1:portnumber and then ran dillo, but then it sais 'connecting' for any url given and nothing happens. ) Is this somehow possible? Thank you! Ruda

It seems that the dpid children forked by Dpi_start_dpid() in dpi.c are not reaped when they terminate themselves after a period of inactivity while the parent dillo process is still running. The patch below is simply to reap these zombies. The SIGCHLD handler should probably do more, but I am not yet familiar enough with Dillo to know what. I believe this patch adheres to the Dillo rules of coding style, but am new to the list and a novice at Dillo patching. Greets all, As I've mentioned previously I'm trying to compile dillo-3.0.3 on Silicon Graphics using the SGI MIPSpro compiler. I'm doing this for a large group of SGI users who reside at nekochan.net. The compilation fails in line 884 in fltkflatview.cc: ---------- cc-3168 CC: ERROR File = fltkui.cc, Line = 884 A name followed by "::" must be a class or namespace name. bool FltkToggleButtonResource<I>::FltkToggleButtonResource::isActivated () ^ cc-1443 CC: ERROR File = fltkui.cc, Line = 884 "dw::fltk::ui::FltkToggleButtonResource<I>::FltkToggleButtonResource" is not a class template. bool FltkToggleButtonResource<I>::FltkToggleButtonResource::isActivated () ^ 2 errors detected in the compilation of "fltkflatview.cc". ---------- I suspect it needs a 'using namespace' or somesuch here, thoughts? Hi! It seems that I'm getting old that I tried to set the option "allow_white_bg" to "false"; to find out that the replacement color is hardcoded! If I haven't missed something, and noone objets, I'll add a prefs variable "white_bg_replacement". BTW: is there a reason that there is still a prefs variable "bg_color", while fonts (the actual fonts, not the font classes) are now defined by CSS? Sebastian

Hi, Currently when using a window manager where focus follows mouse, making a search usually requires you to reach for the mouse. One way to avoid this would be to allow using search engine(s) directly from the address bar. Searches would have to be differentiated somehow from URLs. Dillo already has a customizable list of engines in preferences, so one natural solution would be to interpret url strings which start with the name of a search engine as searches to be performed using it, so that e.g. 'wikipedia slartibartfast', 'google foo' and 'weather oulu' do what you would expect. Other browsers I'm sending to HTML 3.2 are Netscape 3 and 4, MSIE 3 through 5, and any otherwise unidentifiable browser claiming to be Mozilla 4.0. You could try export LDFLAGS=-lX11 and then run configure;make again. Please let us know how this works.
