Hello, I've re-enabled the disabled menus and implemented the callback for the Help -> Dillo Manual menu item. I have also slightly tweaked the default keybindings to be more standardized. commands.c: Documentation for functions. Implemented a_Commands_manual_callback(). menu.c: Enabled Bookmarks and Help menus. Changed default keybindings to be more standard. prefs.h: Defined constant used by menu.c. META refresh

I would like to get dillo to respond to META-refresh without stopping with a warning message. Is there a simple way that I can do that? I have looked around at the code and can make a few changes and recompile, but as yet I am not proficient enough to know what to change and where.

How do I compile the dillo cvs? I've run aclocal, autoconf, (automake fails though). I then run ./configure, which fails configure: error: can not find install-sh or install.sh in . ./.. ./../.. Thanks

Hi there, I've a project in hands where we'll do some sort of kiosk's with linux for some users. We'll use Linux (cost savings) and we need a _FAST_ browser. I've seen dillo working and I think its HTML rendering capabilities are OK for my needs my I need to print some "basic" stuff (like small lists and stuff). Can I do such a thing with dillo? Selection (again)

I've tested all reports (at least those with a meaningful mail subject :-), the only page which does not work currently is "www.slackware.com" (that's a bug lying somewhere else). Printing support

Is there any work done related to printing support? Currently, it's the major reason why I'm using mozilla... Also, what is the current status on: Multiple plugins (there is apparently a rumour that dillo only supports one plugin at a time). Cut and paste (Apparently it's working nicely now...) ftp support. (Achieved goals states that this is already here) https support The bookmarks are great! bm_serv or dillo

Dillo acts a bit funny when I try to add a bookmark sometimes. For example, I tried to add this "Local: Procmail" right after I cliked "submit" Dillo started using about 90% of CPU and kinda' froze but I coul still shut it down without resorting to "kill -9". -- Registered Linux user #298569 Wad some power the giftie gie us To see oursels as others see us. -- R. I was lucky to found the same thing in mesa sources. Thank you - the problem is solved. I completely removed using "make uninstall" then using my trusty Midnight Commander, hunted down all the remnants and directories and removed them. I re-downloaded Dillo, installed from scratch and it seems fine now. I had tried reinstalling one already to no avail, but I had not removed /.dillo before, in order to keep my bookmarks, cookies and rc file. So I guess the lesson here is - when upgrading Dillo, wipe *everything* old Dillo out completely, first. As a sidepoint, I'm glad it wasn't the kernel - kernel 2.4.x has BIG compatibility issues with my machine for some reason :-\ Thank you again. Okay so, i've took some time to read your changes and something took my attention : IO/http.c : socket_len = sizeof(struct sockaddr_in6); The fact is that the structure sockaddr_in6 can be really big and cause problems and i'm not sure that the use of sizeof is safe. I think the best way should be to use a define that use sa_len on bsd compliant systems and the SA_LEN() macro on linux. Damien

Hello, I am the submitter of bug #433. I just noticed the comment on the bug for me to write to this mailing list. I am a first time poster :-) The bug I am experiencing causes Dillo-0.7.1.2 to crash everytime I try to use bookmarkd. It also crashes when I try to bookmark a page or manually type dpi:/bm/ to the address line. I am using Debian woody with kernel 2.5.65 (bug noticed while running 2.5.63). The bug also appears when I boot into kernel 2.2.22. IMO, it's not a compatibility issue there. I have 128MB RAM, 30 Gig fujitsu HD, Cyrix-III, 700MHz cpu, Asus P7V mobo. Valgrind

Hi there! Sometime ago someone suggested using "Valgrind" to test our memory management. After reading its docs, it looks quite worth a try! As using Valgrind to test dillo is akin to using efence (mostly userland), I thought it may be very well done while I keep working on dillo internals. Is anyone interested? feature request

I just wondered if there was a method to force dillo to treat a file given on the command line as HTML. I'd like to use dillo to view html attachments from my mail program, but since the temporary file doesn't have .htm[l] as an extension (actually, it is extension free) so dillo just displays the html instead of interpreting it. I don't mind working on a patch if this capability doesn't already exist, but before embarking down that path I thought I'd check with the experts as I didn't see a reference to this "problem". [PATCH] Some patches for configure.in

Hello everybody, Here are 2 small patches for Dillo: - The first one add necessary stuff to do cross-compilation easy. - The other one just modify the detection for glib/gtk, because the way it is currently done pollutes the CFLAGS variable: When you have gtk/glib missing, libjpeg is not detected. Note: I am the one who ported Dillo to Atari MiNT m68k platform. But it does not work correctly. Segfault using text selection?

dillo officially supported in Sylpheed-Claws

Hi, Current cvs version of Sylpheed-Claws mail client (0.8.11claws14) officially supports Dillo to"safely" view html mail within the mail client window using the embedding facility of Dillo and a plugin technique in Sylpheed-Claws. The forthcoming 0.8.12claws will be the first public release to provide the Dillo plugin. (no timeline known, but it's a matter of weeks). I wrote "safely" between quotes, because IMHO there is a bug in Dillo when using the "-l" (or SpamSafe) command line option, as I pointed out in a previous mail (Message-Id: <20030221093243.435de32f.melvin.hadasht(a)free.fr>). A Question and 2 Requests

How do I tell exactly which sub-version of Dillo is running? I was running Dillo 0.7.1 and it crashed when I tried to save a bookmark. I wanted to be sure I had the latest Dillo before reporting the problem. I see that Dillo 0.7.1 has two sub-versions, 0.7.1.1 anmd 0.7.1.2. When I downloaded and extracted the latest tarball the resulting executable only shows 0.7.1 for the --version option. My requests are both based on my experience with the Opera browser. First, is it difficult to change Dillo so that I can copy-and-paste text from the browser window? I find it very handy to copy text from a web page to paste into a document, or an email, or whatever. Second, I really find Opera's mouse gestures for going forward and back very handy. To go to the previous page (back) you hold down the right mouse button and click the left button. To go forward you hold down the left mouse button and click the right button. With a little practice you can move back and forth between pages very quickly. Thanks for a great browser! Bill

another bug in bm_serv ?

I think bm_serv has a problem adding a bookmark when the title of the page is more than 8 chars in length. For example, I have visited the LAME "encoder" home page and I wanted too bookmark it. The title of the resulting bookmark is "LAME Ain" instead of "LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder". Also if after adding it I try to set the name of the bookmark right bm_serv will act a bit funky by using 100% of my CPU and not sending the results of the modify command to dillo. I have to close dillo for bm_serv to behave normaly again and also if I check the bookmarks I see that modifying the bookmark's name worked afterall. -- Registered Linux user #298569 Let me do my TRIBUTE to FISHNET STOCKINGS ...

ipv6 and dns threads

Hi, The SpamSafe (-l command line) option is meant to refrain Dillo from retrieving remote resources (images). This works unless the original HTML contains a <base href=...> entity. In which case, the remote resources are unconditionally retrieved. In a older message (Message-Id: <20030221093243.435de32f.melvin.hadasht(a)free.fr>), I posted a corresponding test case. dillo on FreeBSD with --enable-ipv6

Hi, when enabling IPv6 on FreeBSD, dillo completely stops to work. With such a binary, not even IPv4 works anymore. I'm not really sure if this is a bug in dillo, or if it's in FreeBSD, but the third parameter to connect() apparently needs to be sizeof(struct sockaddr), which it originally is not (in src/IO/http.c:307). The attached patch makes dillo work again if I compile it with IPv6-support. All of this might apply to the other BSDs as well, and also to other OSes. Also, I don't quite think that this patch should break anything, so it should be safe to apply it. Incorrect rendering of tables on fresco.org

I have noticed that the tables at fresco.org are rendered incorrectly - in particular the "introduction" page. All the tables become _very_ thin - is this a non-standard page, or a to-be-worked bug in dillo? I understand that this site probably uses floating tables, but why are the tables so thin? Also, is it possible to use dillo as a plug-in in non-gtk apps? (ie: porting) I am not a fresco developer :) I'm just interested...

Hi there, SSL support is one of the biggest lacks in dillo for me. To that end, I'm thinking of adding it in. Without knowing the dillo codebase, I see two obvious options: 1) Add a src/IO/https.c file based on src/IO/http.c 2) Move http.c to using openssl's BIO's which can support either encrypted or clear traffic, as well as filters. 1 seems much more straightforward and will result in quicker https support, but will cause there to be a whole hell of a lot of code duplication between http.c & https.c. 2 seems like the more "moral" choice and will make dillo better, at the cost of making openssl necessary for dillo builds. Is anyone currently working on ssl support in dillo? Are you using either of the above two options? If the answer to the first question is negative, do people have feelings about code duplication vs. reliance on openssl? (of course, there's a third option of #ifdef'ing the hell out of http.c, adding BIO support that can be compiled out leaving the current plain socket-based code, but that would probably be more of a nightmare to maintain than 1) above). Is there some reason why spaces are dropped from URLs in dillo? Most other browsers will convert such spaces to %20 (and similarly with other illegal URI characters) automagically. Hi, After building dillo 0.7.1.2 and stripping the binary the file size is almost 1.6 megs. When I built 0.7 the final binary came out to be 289k. I built both using the uclibc library and gcc 3.2. nowrap and prefs.limit_text_width

Hi there! I'm having a little problem with sites that excessively make use of "nowrap" tags, like <http://futurezone.orf.at> I toyed with limit_text_width (quote from dillorc: # Set this to YES, if you want to limit the word wrap width to the vieport # width (may be useful for iPAQ) limit_text_width=YES ), but I noticed that this option doesn't work as I would have expected, because it doesn't force wrapping here (nowrap). Now I think in the context of this dillorc remark, it might be a good idea to override 'nowrap' when limit_text_width is wanted. Am I cruelly breaking standards, or would that make sense? How to use dicache?

I copied dillorc into ~/.dillo/ and set "use_dicache=YES". I then went into Dillo (0.7.1) and went to Google. (I'm on a 33.6K modem connection so I can see the time it takes to load the Google logo). Then I went out of Dillo and back in again to the Google home page. The Google logo took just as long to draw as the first time. I thought that the dicache setting would keep the images in a cache. Obviously I don't understand how this is supposed to work. Bill

cannot login to the times

Hi, I am still stunned by the responsiveness of this browser. Thank you! However, there is one irritant. With cookies accepted, dillo 7.0 is not able to login to the New York Times (at nytimes.com) After filling user-name and password, and submitting, the login page returns cleared, as if nothing happened. Is this a known issue? Anything special to do? Thanks, eythan
