Hi! I've lurked for a couple days, and seeing that this is an active list, thought I'd say "hi." Hi! At the moment, I'm a casual Dillo user, but I definitely like the browser and the idea behind it. I'd love to contribute, and when I've had a chance to sourcedive a bit and check out the bugtracker, you may see a thing or two from me. Things I'm interested in working on at the moment are adding options to configure keybindings (and if that ends up happening, maybe creating CUA (most graphical applications)/Emacs/vi/Conkeror/Firefox (probably not all of the above, but at least a couple) easily-loadable keymaps), and possibly adding surfraw support as an optional module (I haven't thought about how to implement these or anything; just brainstorming), and maybe find-as-you-type searching. (I know that sounds like a list of complaints, but it's not meant that way at all.) I'll likely play around with some of this stuff at some point, but if you have any ideas/tips on where to look for relevant code/how to go about it, sweet! Er. How's that for an introduction? I've been studying the DPI code (hoping to work on SSL) and I noticed that installing dpidrc is rather hacky. The info page "(automake.info) Scripts" describes a standard way to do this using a template. This is simpler because we only explicitly code the build rule in Makefile.am and automake installs it as normal, so there's no messing around with $(datadir), $(DESTDIR) etc. Also, changes such as making the https dpi into a server rather than a filter will only affect the template and won't require changing Makefile.am. The patch is attached. It creates a new source file dpid/dpidrc.in which must be added to CVS. Regards, Jeremy Henty

Hi there, I'm wondering if it would be difficult to add a neat little feature that other browsers usuall implement: X11 Mouse-mid-click pasting of an url in the body of the dillo window as a shortcut to x-ing the url field and pasting there, then type enter. ...or does someone already have a patch handy? ;-) And: Don't let you be distracted from CSS support by this... Hi, I'm trying to get an ebuild together to get dillo-2.0 into Gentoo Linux' portage repository. What do you guys think about limiting the https certificate errors to one per page request, and not one per each item within the page request. Hopefully that makes sense. The issue is when you go to a site like [0] and don't have the issuing cert installed, in this case Valicert and GoDaddy, you get bombarded with tons of dialogs asking you to continue or cancel. Hi, I have looked a bit around. My bitbake files I sent to openembedded are not accepted yet. There are no comments on their tickets yet. The openmoko people have discovered my openmoko package between the debian packages (there was nowhere else a note about them), put a note into their "community update" about it. First of all would like to thank you for this great little web browser. You are doing a really good job. Keep it up! :) Now let's move on to issues & suggestions. Issues: 1) When trying to login to gmail I get a big ugly warning saying: "Non standard meta refresh tag". The "here" link doesn't work. gmail basic html view works ok with links-hacked & elinks. So, I guess, that shouldn't be hard to fix. 2) With the latest dillo2 version (I think this bug was introduced only recently, as I tested dillo2 from cvs not so long ago & it wasn't present) the menu is "teared off" when pressed. Here is a screenshot: http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/5211/dillomenuxu9.png and dillorc I use: http://pastebin.com/f42244f75 3) What happened to frame support? dillo 0.8.6 was able to display them without any problems. Also I don't know what's causing that but going to www.polarhome.com/~hakim pops-up "save as" window (Writing this here because the site has frames). 4) Some keyboard shortcuts are missing. I didn't find shortcuts for: Home, Stop, Save, bookmark current page. 5) When clicked on a link to some file which is not web page dillo should bring up a window asking where I want to save it instead of displaying warning saying it's not a txt file. Suggestions: 1) Currently there doesn't seem to be a way to navigate bookmarks with keyboard. Plus I think it would be way better if bookmarks manager wasn't just an html file (for speed & additional features like bookmarks toolbar). 2) History and address autocompletion (which could come with history) imho is needed a lot. 3) Both history & bookmarks could be saved in sqlite db. 4) web page source code could be searchable and code highlighting could be added too. 5) Both web page source & downloads should be opened in a new tab instead of new window (or at least there could be an option for that). 6) When closing dillo with multiple tabs open, it always asks if I really want to do that. There could be an option "Don't ask again" like in other browsers. 7) Let's say I typed sth in a text field, then changed my mind and want to go to previous page. The thing is, I can't do that using keyboard shortcut anymore (I have to click BACK button with mouse). Escape keyboard key could "escape" from the text field and enable keyboard navigation in this case. 8) Also I am really missing "Copy current URL location" which is present in links-hacked right-click menu. I see that someone in bugtracker asked for a charset selection dialog. In my early charset code, I had a dialog where the initial text was, for example, "text/html; charset=UTF-8". If I remember correctly, Jorge did not really like this because the percentage of users who would know what to type when confronted with this dialog is small. Probably true. (In part I liked it because text/plain provided page source for free.) An alternative would be a menu with predefined charsets, but filling dillo with charset names does not delight me.

It seems a little silly to implement a configure flag in configure.in to define ENABLE_SSL , only for dpi/https.c to ignore it! This patch: * changes --disable-ssl to --enable-ssl * changes dpi/https.c to respect --enable-ssl The default is to disable SSL. The configure script will issue a stern warning about alpha code if --enable-ssl is used. The DPI warning when SSL is disabled has been changed to explain about --enable-ssl . Regards, Jeremy Henty

I wrote some code because I said I was going to write some code, but it turns out that I dislike cookies and advertisements too much to give it any decent testing. If anybody ever wants to play with it, though, here it is: http://www.dillo.org/test/csrf-20081015.patch requests not made by user: 1) Cache_redirect() calling a_Nav_push with the URL from the Location HTTP header, which calls Nav_open_url, which can stuff the requesting URL into the Web structure. 2) a_Html_add_new_image() for automatically-loaded images, calling Html_load_image(), which can stuff the requesting URL into the Web structure. Http_send_query() gets the requesting URL from the Web structure and passes it to a_Http_make_query_str(), which calls a_Cookies_get_query. If cookiesrc shows that the requesting URL is not trusted with cookies, I decided to deny it. Otherwise, the URL is sent off with the request to the cookies dpi. In the dpi, the arguments find their way to Cookies_get and then Cookies_requester_authorized(), which tries to decide whether it wants to send a particular cookie on behalf of the requester.

I submitted this before, but it vanished without comment. The Wikipedia login sets a cookie with an "HttpOnly" attribute, which Dillo rejects. This means that vanilla Dillo cannot login to Wikipedia. Unfortunately this breaks with numeric ipv6 addresses since an ipv6 literal has to be enclosed with square brackets when used in urls and Host: header fields (according to my experiments and my interpretation of rfc 2616 section 14.23 ("Host header") and 3.2.2 ("http URL")). Is this a problem with altavista rather than with dillo? I am using the latest dillo from cvs and fltk-2.0.r6305. Christopher

Hi there, CVS has rc1! Was moved into dillorc/dillo/2.0. A simple workaround patch for sylpheed was committed. Please get it from: http://www.dillo.org/test/dillo-2.0rc1.tar.bz2 and give it a compilation, installation and some testing. If it's OK, maybe Sunday is a good day for release. BTW, I notice that ctrl-Q and alt-Q, listed in the menu, don't do anything.

panel_size=tiny have no menu

hi i use dillo with panel_size=tiny and now with the tabs, i wanted to close some of then... but as there is no close button nor tab menu, i was searching for the shortcut for close tabs... i search the mailling list and it points to the menu entry and the ctr+Q, and at least the last one works fine. what i found is that if i setup panel_size=tiny, i have no menu, in dillo1 there was a F next to the bookmark Not that the File menu is very important, but here is the bug report :) Thanks higuita -- Naturally the common people don't want war... but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. If you try setting font_factor to 2, you will see that check/radio buttons are partly overwritten by their accompanying text. I hope there's a clever way to avoid the getFont() that I use in the patch.
