Dillo RPM/build on SuSE 8.1

Patrick, From what you sent me it looks like the problem with the binary RPM is over new libpng and glibc versions. Here's what I've gotten from SuSE's FTP site as far as library versions: SuSE 8.1: glibc 2.2 libpng 1.2.4 SuSE 8.2: glibc 2.3 libpng 1.2.5 So the glibc version conflict is explained. The libpng conflict is strange, though, because I would expect those to be the same generation of libpng. What version does "rpm -qi libpng" report? I did some digging through the mailing list archives, and came across the thread in which you were having problems compiling 0.7.2 from source. I had forgotten that the source needed to be patched to compile it on SuSE 8.1 ( http://lists.auriga.wearlab.de/pipermail/dillo-dev/2003-April/000532.html ) Does the 0.7.3 source RPM build, or does it give you the same libpng errors as 0.7.2? Can you compile 0.7.3 from source? If not, does it work after applying the patch? If so, I'll add it to the SRPM and apply it for SuSE <= 8.1 (or better yet, if I can figure out a way to do it, only on versions of libpng that need it). I'll try to find time soon to install a copy of SuSE 8.1 so I can do my own testing & building. I'm not too fond of SuSE's FTP-based installation, but the rant would be way off-topic. For now, I've renamed the SuSE RPM to make it clear it will only work on 8.2. -- Kelson Vibber www.hyperborea.org

Refresh shortcut?

Hi there all, Just a small question: Are there any plans to implicate a keyboard shortcut for refreshing? I know the rest of them, and unless I'm mistaken, the only one missing is refresh ;-) I use dillo mainly on my laptop, and try do as much possible with keyboard shortcuts, and when using forums, the refresh is neccissary to see which posts have / have not been viewed. Anti-aliasing patch for dillo-0.7.3 available

Greetings, Some time ago Nicola Girardi posted an anti-aliasing patch for 0.7.1 or 0.7.2 (thanks Nicola!). Based on that patch, I have created a patch to dillo-0.7.3. This patch has only been tested on a Redhat 8.0 system. You will need to install freetype-devel, fontconfig-devel, and Xft-devel if not already installed. gdk_font_load & selecting and paste!!

hi all: I replace the gdk_font_load with gdk_fontset_load for displaying the chinese .Because the API gdk_font_load can not load the muticharacter encoding .But when I select some text then dillo crash .WHY?

Hi there! Yesterday I posted an email about 0.7.3 but forgot to mention the most important part: the URL! :-) There's a tarball of 0.7.3 at: http://www.dillo.org/download/dillo-0.7.3.tar.bz2 The plan was to test it yesterday (it already passed my tests and Seb's too) and to announce it on Wednesday while letting our packagers some time to update them for announce time. So there it is, and will be announced on Thursday. Please get it and give it some hard testing. Kelson, Phil, Oliver: please make update your packages with it. Sorry for the mistake. Cheers Jorge.- Frank: after I upload 0.8.0-pre I'll have some time to look in your work. Now that 0.7.3 release is almost done, I guess Sebastian will have some time too (we were working on a plan for CSS, and then Sebastian had to make a detailed review of the incremental resizing mechanism because of some discovered bugs. I was working on 0.8.0-pre (plugins) and on the release). All this explanation is to state that it is not lack of interest, but lack of manpower. You'd be amazed to know all of the things I'm working in parallel. PS: the above note applies to all of you waiting for an answer from my side...

AFAIR, nobody has reported how to do it yet, but I think it is possible with the required expertise. I mean it involves not only knowing Dillo internals, but also about the porting state of the libraries it depends upon: mainly glib, GTK+ and pthread. It seems that if Dillo is upgraded to use GTK+2 the task gets a bit simpler (and we have plans to do it so).
