Hi there, dillo-0.8.6.tar.bz2 is finally ready for download. Get it from: http://www.dillo.org/download/dillo-0.8.6.tar.bz2 The announcement will be made hopefully after the RPMs and DEBs are ready. Package maintainers, please let me know when ready. The graphical downloads plugin is the recommended choice for precompiled packages. IMPORTANT NOTE: FLTK2 r4898 or less is recommended. Later snapshots behave unstable. You have been warned. How to get FLTK2: From scratch from svn: svn co -r 4898 http://svn.easysw.com/public/fltk/fltk/trunk/ fltk to an existing svn tree: svn update -r 4898 Please send some feedback. This is the same rc5 tarball (with a 0.8.6 label), but you never know! :-) -- Cheers Jorge.-

Dillo 0.8.5-2.fc5 suddenly having problems as default browser under FC5

Followups set to gmane.comp.web.dillo.devel Dillo 0.8.5-2.fc5 has long been my default -- both in the preference settings for Fedora 4 and now 5, and in the preferences for Pan 0.14.2.91. It seems to've gotten some major changes lately -- possibly through a yum nightly, more likely because of some change I've made in its options, such as telling it my own colors for links visited and unvisited, etc. It worked fine with Pine (either on my own machine, or Pine on a remote machine running under ssh) in which I command "open link" -- for a while longer than in Pan. But Dillo as the default has suddenly (in the last day or so) taken to coming up with only a tiny window, and telling me "ERROR: unable to connect to remote host" in the left bottom corner. I have tried changing the preferences to something else, and back; no joy. If I open Dillo from its icon in the browser drawer on my panel, it tells me "Welcome to Dillo 0.8.5-i18n-misc" -- but rpm -q dillo says dillo-0.8.5-2.fc5. If I type or paste a URL into the location on Dillo as opened from the icon, I also get the error message. (It used to work fine on complete URLs -- ones including "http://" It failed to accept ones showing only "www.<whatever>" but would get them if I opened Dillo and typed or pasted the "www.<whatever> into it and hit enter. Now it fails both ways, with and without the full URL.) Pan still gets other browsers to find its links, if I make the change in its Edit > Preferences > Apps & Mail; Pine does if I change system preferences. Would changing color coding affect ability to browse?? Is FC5 suddenly having troubles passing URLs to Dillo that it didn't have before?? - Beartooth Staffwright, Wordcrafty Squirreler FC5; Pine 4.64, Pan 0.14.2.91; Privoxy 3.0.3; CXO 5.0.1 Dillo 0.8.5, Opera 8.54, Firefox 1.5, Galeon 2.0.1 Remember I have little idea what I am talking about.

hi all! Google Summer of Code is out and i think it's a great opportunity for Dillo to gain _paid_ developers. The project is very well presented, i think anybody with more or less knowledge can effectively contribute. Better news attached Read and respond to this message at: https://playstation2-linux.com/forum/message.php?msg_id=49519 By: cronocloud the default kit wget is apparently 1.5.3 from 1998! I'd never even thought about upgrading it. (just like I never thought about upgrading vi/vim even though I use it a lot until quite recently) I grabbed wget 1.10.2 and installed it, you have to compile it with gcc3. That fixed the problem with dillo (it downloads properly and displays that nice little progress bar) so it was a problem with the kit's wget being too old. Good detective work. And another plus is I'm actually logged in here with it. I appreciate the Dillo-devs work. -- robert w hall

Hi there, The new dillo-0.8.6-rc5 is ready for download! Get it from: http://www.dillo.org/download/dillo-0.8.6-rc5.tar.bz2 Changes: - Now both download plugins are dillo-cookie aware. - Fixed a bug in memory deallocation (downloads GUI). - "C" locale for log parsing to work on localized systems (downloads GUI). - Now, new downloads appear on top of the list (downloads GUI). - Fixed a segfault for No-Content-Type ans zero lenght resources (cache). As you see, most of it is in the downloads GUI. Nobody complained about the new Content-Type sniffer of rc4, so it remained the same. That's it. Please test and send feedback! -- Cheers Jorge.-

Hello everybody. I am a newbie. Is there any kind of trick to a program do dillo go to a url? I try send by file.dpi unix socket this <dpi cmd='open_url' url='www.google.com'> modifying dpidc perl script, but I think I don't understand dpi protocol. Upcoming filename changes in FLTK2

A tip-off for Dillo developers: FLTK2 will shortly rename its installed libraries and configuration scripts from *fltk* to *fltk2* . This means that Dillo's configure.in will then have to refer to fltk2-config everywhere instead of fltk-config . Cheers, Jeremy Henty
