I don't always have CDs available for Software Freedom Day or our local school district Tech Conference. If I have a few available, I'll typically give them away as prizes. I tell the participants they can download their own and give them links to do so. I put together a page of Open Source resources and update the links every year. I include CD collections and articles on how to make CD disk covers, cross-platform Open Source software, links to our local users groups, links to web based Open Source resources/applications, portable apps, Creative Commons multimedia links and other related information. I've posted a copy of this year's page minus the local user's groups here in case anyone's interested: http://www.distasis.com/cpp/pbtc.htm At some point (maybe next year's Software Freedom Day), I'd like to put together my own CD collection of Open Source programs. how to get installation cds I am organising an event in Lartebiokoshie, Accra as a new team. Our local Linux Users Group used to participate ever year in Software Freedom Day. I've volunteered at the local event several times and done publicity for it. Unfortunately, our users group disbanded last year. I really miss celebrating SFD and showing others what interesting Open Source software is available to them. No other groups in our area participated in Software Freedom Day last year. I decided to try to run a Software Freedom Day event of my own this year and see if any former Linux Users Group members would be willing to help out. I've contacted our local library to reserve a room. Would like to know how to get the event added to the SFD event map for 2017. Is there anything I need to do in coordination with the SFD web site/project to make our event official? Any suggestions for holding a successful event would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Help requested with caff / signing keys

Greetings, Any of you guys know caff quite well please? I have attended a keysigning party last week end in Belgium (FOSDEM) and I have been advised to use caff to sign the public keys. I do not want to spam the group with my .caffrc file, so if you want to help me, please contact me via PM if at all possible. I have not launched caff yet, but I need someone to check my .caffrc file and tell me what they think, for instance, I use smtp1.servage.net as smtp server. Will that work on your opinion? As a FYI, The Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society is pleased to announce the release of the TTCS OSSWIN v1.60, a collection of the latest version of Free and Open Source Software for Microsoft Windows (10/8/7/Vista/XP) for download. The name change from TTCS OSSWIN DVD to TTCS OSSWIN was done to reflect that whilst the collection can (for now) be burned on a DVD, DVDs are becoming less prevalent on many modern Windows computers and that TTCS OSSWIN can be extracted to the hard drive or to USB flash drives. The TTCS OSSWIN collection features a web based interface for browsing programs organised into several categories: Desktop Applications, Educational, Games, Graphics, Internet, Server, Sound and Video and Utilities. Lots of software updates for TTCS OSSWIN v1.60, including LibreOffice 5.2.1, Mozilla Firefox 48.0.2, Virtualbox 5.1.6 and more. See the changelog for more details.
