Peace be upon you all. Here goes the post event updates of our event no.1 of this year :D ==== In here in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Saturday, 20 September 2014, 16:00 on the venue Daffodil International University, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1205 we started our event on 11:00AM. FOSS Bangladesh Information and Research Secretary Sagir Hussain Khan starts off with the presentation on "Software Freedom Day and the causes we support and joined in with the Global Community". On the other sessions by FOSS Bangladesh Volunteers were -- "Software and Cyber Freedom" presented by T I M Shafiqul Amin, "Free Software - learn the ways of earning" presented by Sharif Ahmmed Mollick, "Software Freedom Activism and Linux Boostup" presented by Habibur Rahman Shadhin. FOSS Bangladesh General Secretary Shazedur Rahim Joardar RING presented the key session on "Open knowledge, Software Freedom, user rights and its necessity". Among the others Faculty members from the Software Engineering Department of the Daffodil International University Mr. Khaled Sohel, Mr. Koushik Sarkar, Mr. Mohammad Manjurul Islam Khan, Mrs. Shikha Anirban and Ms. Tasnuba Jasmin was present and participated in the event. From 14:00 to 16:00 there were GNU/Linux installation and support service free of cost and free for all by FOSS Bangladesh Volunteer Shafiqur Rahman Pallab, Redwan Hasan, Saiful Alam, Mahazurul Karim Maha and the other Volunteers. Hi everyone, we're wondering in g3ekarmy how was your sfd's going? We're seeing extraordinary photos of the wordwide teams, and we like to share our photos too, there are: https://www.flickr.com/photos/g3ekarmyvg/sets/72157647838709452/ All the place was filled with people interested in foss, we has simoultaneous workshops and conferences all around the place and almost 500 people involved along the Day, was awesome, thanks for making this possible. So we're wondering what's with competition? In past years, we have to upload the pics on a gallery on the wiki, i wonder if we are going to do this for 2014, and what is going on the organization, photo, logo competitions as well. Free Culture Discs

Hello, I joined the mailing list to know that our group has put together a Free Culture Sampler disc of CC-licensed audio. We are burning these tracks to CDs and distributing them at our event. It consists of a selection of curated music tracks, and some sample podcasts. Windows Free Software DVD

One of our team members (Charles McColm) put together a Windows Free Software disc. This includes the Free Culture Disc I posted earlier. The disc has some limitations. It is English-only and may be limited to 32 bit software. But you can use the framework and modify it to your needs. To download it, go to https://archive.org/details/SFDWINSOFT2014 and click on "All Files: HTTPS" (or start up a torrent if you would like). I do not know whether there is another Windows disc of current software for SFD this year. If not then please feel free to use ours. - Paul

You might consider "Terms and Conditions May Apply": http://tacma.net/ . It pretends to be about EULA conditions but is really about surveillance. The movie is not free culture. however. - Paul
