Dear all, Considering we have had a lot of teams in India in the past years I will be traveling to Bangalore, India and attend the GNOME.Asia Summit 2011 [1]. I intend to talk about why Software Freedom matters, explain a few more things about licensing (based on discussion I have had on IRC with some Indian team leaders), Free Software and Open Source and hopefully run a round table discussion with potential team leaders for 2011. The main motivation has been that for the first time SFI founder, VP and treasurer and I met in 2010 for the 1st time after 3 full years of collaboration, and a lot of things came out of it. I believe getting a chance to sit together and discuss various strategies, event organization and road blocks can be very beneficial for the team leaders who could attend. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person, and hopefully the SFI board will be able to attend other FOSS conferences in the upcoming months in different areas and engage into face to face communication with more team leaders. Thanks for supporting SFD 2011!

I just wanted to offer my thanks to everyone here who helped support SFD 2011! Our event in Dallas was small but successful. We had a lot of people show up. We gave away lots of Ubuntu and Fedora CDs. Thanks for all the swag, it arrived well before the big day and we used nearly all of it. We even inflated all the balloons and decorated the room with them this year. One note about the t-shirts - they suffered major shrinkage. On the first washing, my large became a medium. On the second wash, it shrunk to small. :) But better those orange shirts from a few years ago where the color leached out and stained everything you washed with them. Best t-shirts so far have been the bright green ones (maybe 2007?) - no shrinkage, no color leaching. If anyone knows who made those, use that company to make next year's shirts! Wikipedia presentation on SFD Munich

Hi, I could give a presentation on Wikipedia, if you need more lecturers. I'd focus on the history of Wikipedia and explain how Wikipedia works; with maybe a short presentation on the free software MediaWiki behind Wikipedia. Something between 15 and 45 minutes (whatever you like; I think 30 min including question time might be best). I need a beamer with a VGA port. Language can be German or English, whatever the audience wants. About me: I'm 21 years old, studying Computer Science and Philosophy in Munich. I have been a Wikipedia author for five years now, and an administrator for three years. I give presentations on Wikipedia to students and teachers as part of Wikimedia Deutschlands school project. Hi all, Mailman interface fails to show URLs to specific mails in SFD archive. Can you please fix/ enhance ?
