With a bit of delay we have just open the Best SFD Event competition for
2009! Please visit http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/Competition2009 for
the condition and report your event as soon as possible. You have until
December 31, 2009 but don't wait for the last minute.
We're still looking for prizes (and I'm sure we'll find something cool
this year), but no matter what the awards will be given, and it's always
nice for your team to know you performed so well.

Hi SFDers,
The SFI annual meeting took place today, at which I stepped down as
President and a new board was elected. Congratulations to the following
people who will be taking charge of SFD in 2010:

Fred Muller was chosen to be the next President of SFI - congratulations to
him and to all the other board members. I wish them luck in taking SFD to
ever greater heights!
I'd like to thank all those of you who've worked on events around the world
to take software freedom to the masses; it's been very rewarding to
represent SFD and make this fantastic global event happen every year. Please
do give the new board your support, and if you'd like to see them do
something differently - contact them and let them know!
