SFD How to load Wiki Webpage??

Hi List: Just managed to work out how to register for getting a wikipage, as I'm trying to work out how to get a webpage up on the SFD 2008 for our team, and for it to display with everyone elses at www.softwarefreedomday.org/teams and also for it to have its own url at www.softwarefreedomday.org/teams/oceania/au/SouthernFleurieu OK I managed to create and save a page when I registered my own name as "Grant Petch", but from here I have absolutely no idea how I am to get and load the page up where it is supposed to go. I have read the instructions provided on the website on how to do this stuff, but I am still having trouble on working out how to solve this issue, does anyone know what I am to do now from here?? Only one week left to register for a SFD team pack

Hi all, Registrations close on July the 15th for the free Software Freedom Day team pack. The first 300 teams registered for SFD will receive a pack with tshirts, stickers, balloons, badges, FOSS CDs and some resource CDs to help their day be awesome. We already have 220 teams registered and the event is almost two months away! For those of you who have registered and need to change any of the details on the SFD world map, please let us know. If you have let us know, please remind us and we'll get straight onto it :) We are putting up a shop again like last year, and hope to have that up within the week. Teams can then purchase additional tshirts if they choose. I recently helped run a FOSS stand at a very large Australian education expo and this year people are more open to the value and importance of FOSS and software freedom than ever before!. Hi everyone, SFD2008 is around the corner - Saturday 20 September - and team registrations are now open! The first 300 teams registered before the 15th July will receive a SFD team pack including SFD 2008 tshirts, button pins, stickers and balloons, as well some useful resource CDs including some OpenEducation Discs (http://www.theopendisc.com/education/) a resource DVD with artwork, documentation, presentation templates and video material, and the option for some Ubuntu CDs. Additional T-shirts will also be available to purchase via our online store, which will be open soon. You can register by visiting our registration page but don't forget that you need to make your team page (or update your old page) *before* registering. Open Education Disc for SFD

Hi I have uploaded an iso of the Open Education Disc without VLC for distribution as part of SFD. I have also created an md5 verifier for the iso. Registration system - success and a few complications

With the exception of a few little issues on particular browsers, which he is working through now, it has worked a treat and we already have almost 100 teams registered! That's what comes from trying to make the registration script too complicated! We are working on a solution to this technical glitch, however until then there is a very easy workaround that you can use: -------------------------- When you get to the part of the form that says "Would your team like to receive supplies?", change the drop-down box to "Yes" and then click on the refresh/reload button on your browser. -------------------------- Thanks for your patience. Quick question....

Hi Guys, Just a quick enquiry about software we would like to give out at Software Freedom Day. One of our members has offered to burn a number of Linux Mint CD's and DVD'd to give out at the event, coupled with a howto guide to show how to install it. One of our other members thinks we can't do that because Linux Mint comes with Proprietary media codecs. My thoughts on it is that it's a day about celebrating software freedom, and that taking a hard line on stuff that doesn't conform to FSF guide lines on free software isn't really the event for it, my views is that workshops and discussion groups on why using free-codecs is better than using proprietary-codecs i think is a great idea. Sort of advertising alternatives, rather than saying YOU CAN'T USE THAT I have the nasty thought that we have all of these potential new users, who the minute they go to play their music or videos sit there and say "well free software is good but you can't play stuff i'll just boot back in to windows" You guys have any ideas or am i just making more out of it than i should -- Arron M Finnon President The UAD Linux Society www.thelinuxsociety.org.uk
