by Pockey Lam Jan. 28, 2011

Jan. 28, 2011

Dear all, I am also involved in GNOME, the Free Desktop Project. The GNOME Foundation is giving away some goodies <http://live.gnome.org/ThreePointZero/Goodies> (t-shirts, stickers, balloons, etc) to those organizing GNOME 3.0 <http://gnome3.org> release parties. If you know anybody who might be interested in hosting a GNOME 3.0 launch party (in April 2011) and getting free GNOME goodies mailed to them, please help spread the news. http://live.gnome.org/ThreePointZero/Goodies http://live.gnome.org/ThreePointZero/LaunchParty Thanks, Pockey

SFD Team Leader Survey
by Frederic Muller - SFI Nov. 4, 2010

Nov. 4, 2010

Dear team leaders, We've publish a survey especially for team leaders at http://survey.softwarefreedomday.org/index.php?sid=69824 in order to gather feedbacks and comments, and with the objectives of improving the support we're currently providing to local teams. The survey will take you 5-8 minutes to fill based on your proficiency in English (and your Internet connection ;-) ) and help us a great deal! So please, if you have ever lead a SFD event since 2004 (whether officially or not) do take those 5-8 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Help us spread the word and make sure that as many team leaders as possible spend the time to let us know how they feel. Your feedback is very valuable. Thank you. Fred SFI Board

Re: [SFD-discuss] [SFD-announce] SFD Team Leader Survey
by Frederic Muller - SFI Nov. 3, 2010

Nov. 3, 2010

Dear Daniel, Internationalization is definitely our next step. What is SHS though? We have started to set up committees to handle various activities actually and I guess we could place translation contributions under our marketing committee at the moment. The mailing list is accessible here http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/en/community/mailing-lists and we will need people who can do more than just translation if possible. Thank you for volunteering and let's continue the discussion over there. Thanks a lot. Re: [SFD-discuss] [SFD-announce] Last day for submitting competition report
by Frederic Muller - SFI Oct. 31, 2010

Oct. 31, 2010

Dear Robert, You have been told about it before. Let me quote this for you: 1. SFD Site front page, competition article title: "Submit your report before 31st Oct 2010!" 2. Competition rules page, just before the rules list: "The competition will be judged by the Software Freedom International board as usual. The deadline for submitting entries is 31st October 2010 at 1200UTC." 3. Announce email posted to SFD-Discuss and SFD-Announce, right after the submission link: "As some of the teams are still celebrating SFD until middle of the month, the deadline for the submissions is October 2010 31st at 12h00 UTC." Now that this is clarified I will also quote the 3 bullet from the General Rules, on the rules page section: "Teams that require more time to prepare their entries may be granted an extension at the discretion of the competition organisers. Applications for a deadline extension should be sent to info[at]softwarefreedomday[dot]org." We do understand that preparing the report is a huge task (been there, done that) and will definitely grant you another week by extending the competition deadline to October 7th 1200UTC. Is this something you can work with? Are other teams facing the same issue, and is 1 extra week for submitting the competition report ok with everyone? Thanks and don't hesitate to get back to us. Kind regards, Fred SFI Board On 10/31/2010 12:55 PM, Robert Farrar wrote: > Hello Fred, > > This date of the 31st of October, being the final date for reporting, > this is the first time I have found out about this. > > Why have we not been told about this before ? > > I need at least another week to put this together, not 12 hours. > > Thanks, > > Robert Farrar > team Limestone Coast, Australia > > On 31/10/2010 2:53 PM, Frederic Muller - SFI wrote: >> Dear all, >> >> Just a short notice to remind you that all reports to participate in the >> competition must be submitted the latest today October 31st. >> >> The submission URL is here: >> http://cgi.softwarefreedomday.org/event_report.html >> >> and you need to use JavaScript for the form to work. >> >> Let us know if you have any issue. >> >> Thanks a lot. >> >> Fred >> SFI Board >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> SFD-announce mailing list >> SFD-announce(a)sf-day.org >> http://mail.sf-day.org/lists/listinfo/sfd-announce >> >> . >> >
