Thanks to Fred, a French-speaking announcement is ready for those who are not user-friendly with other tongues : plase feel free to spread it arround you :-) ------- SFD, Software Freedom Day, ou le jour de la célébration du logiciel libre est à 2 pas de chez vous ! En effet c'est avec un grand plaisir que nous vous informons que cette célébration mondiale se déroulera le samedi 17 septembre 2011 (3e samedi du mois de septembre) et que vous êtes chaudement invités à participer. Pas d'idée? Célébrer le libre ce n'est pas compliqué: une petite annonce à vos membres ou utilisateurs, un rendez-vous entre copains au café du coin, ou dans un lieu public pour expliquer aux néophites tous les bienfaits de ces logiciels et leur faire voir ce qu'ils peuvent en faire. Pour ce faire, nous avons mis à disposition un nombre assez important de ressources ici : http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/Marketing SFD se célèbre depuis 2004 dans le monde avec en moyenne 500 équipes présentes dans plus de 100 pays. L'enregistrement ne prend que quelques minutes et nécessite de créer sa page évènement sur le wiki de SFD (http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/GuidedeD%C3%A9marrage ) et de remplir un tout petit formulaire (http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/cgi-bin/register.py ) afin d'apparaître sur la carte globale des évènements SFD http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/map/ . Providing Certificates for SFD Volunteers and SFD Organizing Team!

Hey fellow sfders! We were thinking of providing our SFD volunteers and SFD Organizers with some certificates as a proof that they helped in organizing and volunteered for our SFD 2011 :) Trust me, certificates are really valued by people here in India... So, is there any way that SFI can sign/endorse the certificates which we will provide as a hard copy to our SFD organizers and Volunteers to be authentic? has any one else given out certificates for a SFD before? -- regards, Karan Pratap Singh

Press clipping for 2011

Dear all, While we're getting we traffic over the roof this year I am noticing that the press clipping page has not been updated at all this year. So if your team or SFD has been featured in the press in your country can you kindly go to http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/press and update the 2011 like we did in previous years? Those links go to our www website at the end of the year and shows how SFD teams as a community manage to raise awareness in the media. Thanks a lot. Fred

New countdown language: Czech!

Yeah! A silent individual who goes under the wiki name of eischmann has translated the countdown into Czech. I just added the language into the script and it will be available within 10 minutes. They ask us for the customs duty. Is there any possible to get it as duty free? Is there any India Team gets is duty free?
