Hello, teams out there. I have two things to mention that bother me: 1. There are no source files of the logo, to have it translated (hm, yes, just the date...) in german. 2. What is the "official" font of this year? (Jura, Libel Suit, ...)? If this things are missing, I would gladly load them up. I have the svg's and TrueTypes/OpenFonts from last year. Redirects from the old site's dead pages to the new site.
by Lars Nooden July 21, 2010

July 21, 2010

If there is time, please use mod_rewrite[1] to redirect user to the new pages or at least to the new site. Sending an HTTP response (301) 'Moved Permanently' might also help the search engines update, because the old pages are still turning up in Google. This one turned up just now near the top of the search results but gives a 404 Not Found error: http://softwarefreedomday.org/about The redirects can point to individual pages if there is a 1:1 mapping or just to a page on the new site saying that there is a new address and to rummage around there. Regards /Lars [1] http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_rewrite.html http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html#sec10.3.2

Deadline for CDs
by Thilo Pfennig July 21, 2010

July 21, 2010

Hi, can somebody again write what the deadline for registration to be able to order the CDs is? In the announcement it says "10 days". But thats a relative date, not an absolute one. I think if we want to encourage people to register early the absloute date is essential. So we should fix this on the website but if it is answered on this list, everybody here knows, too. SFD 2010 registration is OPEN!!!
by Frederic Muller July 20, 2010

July 20, 2010

Dear all, This is with a lot of struggles that we have finally managed to open the SFD 2010 registration <http://cgi.softwarefreedomday.org/register.html>! As you can see there is still a lot of ongoing work on the site, and this includes a New Wiki <http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org> where you can create your team page <http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CreateYourTeampage>, a new home page <http://maddog.softwarefreedomday.org/cms-sfd/> for all the information about Software Freedom International and other generic and important stuff and much more to come. I want to particularly thank *Thilo*, *JM*, *Matt* and *Robert* for helping out as well as our web infrastructure sponsors, that is Canonical <http://www.canonical.com> and Linode <http://www.linode.com> for providing our little corner on the web. Due to the delay there will only be 10 days to get free CDs this year, so don't slack! And happy SFD preparations! Oh and by the way, the direct link to registering your team is here http://cgi.softwarefreedomday.org/register.html after creating your team page <http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CreateYourTeampage> of course. Any question please let us know. The SFI Board

by Frederic Muller - SFI July 19, 2010

July 19, 2010

Dear all, Some of you might have received a second confirmation email, some of you might have seen our maintenance page for registration confirmation: yes we had a small glitch in the registration but all is back to normal now. So please feel free to click on the link in the email and validate your registration. Again sorry for the inconveniences and thank you for your patience. Have a great Software Freedom Day preparation. Note that we also have a SFD IRC channel on freednode at #sfd . Else the sfd-discuss mailing list or the Spannish planning mailing list are good ways to talk with other SFD community members and ask for tips and advices List mailman about planning SFD for spanish speakers http://mail.sf-day.org/lists/listinfo/planning-es Thanks to Peter for reminding us. Hello. I just wanted to register my team as every year, but can't log in with my user and password. Has it changed since the old wiki? Do I have to register again? I would like to add our town in the wiki. Greetings from Germany Edgar "Fast Edi" Hoffmann
