Hi! I'd like to thank Nathaniel (Brazil) and Marcos (Portugal) for helping us out with the wiki. We finished the template pages so all wiki pages creation should be well sorted out and end up in the right place automatically, as well as updated the 4-5 landing pages in currently available languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Sinhala). As usual if you encounter some issue while creating your event/team page please let us know so we can address it. Registration is the next step and should be completed soon. Thank you. Fred

SFD2021 in Iran report

Hi everyone, Happy Software Freedom Day again I am pleased to inform the world community that we in Iran managed to conduct 5 online events. The first one was organized by people in Mashhad city and funded and supported by some companies and organizations. Next was Gnu Meetup special event for SFD with 6 non technical talks addressing different issues related to significance of Software Freedom in today Iran. Organizers of this even, released a statement addressing people, free software community and government. There were two other events organized by Blender House in Iran and also a telegram based community of front-end developers called Front Chapter in which people discussed the impact of free software in shaping the web. And finally, the last event was organized yesterday by Azad-on focusing on contribution. Like last year, Azad-on tried to inform people that having share in a freer future in computation doens't necessarily require programming knowledge. The event encouraged people to provide non-technical contribution to OpenStreetMap, Mozilla Common Voices and software/documentation translations. After long time, we could achieve daily goal on Common Voice project for Persian language (1200 voice record and 2400 verification). I am happy that this year, we had multiple groups organizing small but independent events for SFD rather waiting for a big and grand event, addressing small number of geeks. I hope this experience could have some share in breaking the malformed imagination of so called Free Software Community in Iran around the way of celebrating Software Freedom Day. -- Regards, Mostafa Ahangarha

Kia ora, greetings ('be well') from Aotearoa / New Zealand. With SFD21 just 24 hours away, an update from 'SFD Team Christchurch'. We will be opening the event internationally, from our GMT-12 timezone 'Auckland', and sustaining a teleconference presence for visitors and other teams to check in with, at https://meet.jit.si/SFD2021 We have monthly use of a library PC lab and SFD is our annual expo event for outreach. Quik report on our SFD last Saturday!

Greetings, We had 5 members present on our stand, COVID is our enemy :( We tarted at 09:30 to set up the stand, in open air and facing River Seine. It was raining a bit, maybe the tide, than we had a beautiful day. We were kept quite busy, our SFD coincided with the annual meeting of all associations of Rouen, Normandie and surrounding towns. The main questions were about when will be holding our regular meetings. Which we cannot at this moment, because the room that the City lends us has no windows, only one door. We demonstrated all major Linux distros and in particular openSUSE / SUSE, MicroOS / Kubic, Libre Office, Raspberry with Pi-Hole, Kali Linux for Cybersecurity, Gnome, XFCE, KDE, Wordpress. Some very excited people also offered to give us a hand when we will be holding meetings. Just found out Code for America is having a National Civic Hacking Day on the same day as Software Freedom Day. Was thinking it might be nice if they combined their event with Software Freedom Day and used it to help promote both groups. Maybe if some of us contact them and suggest it, they'll add their event as a part of Software Freedom Day. Hi I can't register my team. I have made the wiki page /Australia/South Australia/Adelaide/ but when I try to register the team it says the pages don't exist. I have attached a screenshot of the page. Thanks Robyn
