Dear Robert, You have been told about it before. Let me quote this for you: 1. SFD Site front page, competition article title: "Submit your report before 31st Oct 2010!" 2. Competition rules page, just before the rules list: "The competition will be judged by the Software Freedom International board as usual. The deadline for submitting entries is 31st October 2010 at 1200UTC." 3. Announce email posted to SFD-Discuss and SFD-Announce, right after the submission link: "As some of the teams are still celebrating SFD until middle of the month, the deadline for the submissions is October 2010 31st at 12h00 UTC." Now that this is clarified I will also quote the 3 bullet from the General Rules, on the rules page section: "Teams that require more time to prepare their entries may be granted an extension at the discretion of the competition organisers. Applications for a deadline extension should be sent to info[at]softwarefreedomday[dot]org." We do understand that preparing the report is a huge task (been there, done that) and will definitely grant you another week by extending the competition deadline to October 7th 1200UTC. Is this something you can work with? Are other teams facing the same issue, and is 1 extra week for submitting the competition report ok with everyone? Thanks and don't hesitate to get back to us. photo stream/mashups options?

Dear all, As you've seen we have are already streaming Flickr's photo based on tags on several pages of the sfd website. Looking through either posts on our blog or the new sfd blogosphere page (an aggregated google search of several keywords arong SFD) a lot of you host there own photos. I was wondering if there was any 'public api' that would work with popular FOSS photo galleries projects that you may be using. I'd prefer to recommend using a FOSS solution rather than Flickr when people ask me how to get their photos appear on our site. Thanks. Fred

Event report submission form is online

Sometime it is hard for me to add non-English speaking countries as I am not always sure what it's talking about, nor which site is 'worthy of interest'. OK. So add a picture in your wiki page you need to: 1. log in 2. go to your wiki page (can be done either way 2 and 1 first works as well - it's just that a lot of issues come from people not being logged in.) 3. Look on the right end side of the menu bar: there is an "Actions" menu. click on it. 4. Select Attach File from the list 5. You can now upload a file (image or presentation or...) 6. Click on the Edit menu now and insert your image where you want in your page using the code [[attachment:file.ext]] where file.ext is the file name you just uploaded. 8. save (you can preview first to make sure).
