Countdown: two weeks for Software Freedom Day!
by Robert Schumann Sept. 6, 2009

Sept. 6, 2009

Hi all SFD'ers, With two weeks to go until Software Freedom Day (19 September), I hope that all your preparations for the event are going well. Regarding shipments of T-shirts and CDs: these were shipped from two separate locations and will therefore arrive at two separate times. Unfortunately we don't have the capability of tracking shipments, so we can't tell you anything further about where these shipments have got to - but from postings to the SFD-discuss mailing list<http://mail.sf-day.org/lists/listinfo/sfd-discuss>it appears that numerous teams have already received all their goodies. As in previous years, it is possible that customs officials in various countries will decide that taxes must be paid on the items that we ship to teams. Unfortunately we have no way to influence this, and we are not able to arrange to pay these taxes. Teams will either have to pay those duties, or find some way to convince authorities that the taxes do not need to be paid. Note that you can still buy further SFD T-shirts from our online store: http://sfd.openfreeway.org/ Good luck with your last two weeks of preparations, and we hope you have a great SFD! Regards, Robert President, Software Freedom International

Need Consult on Glug Wiki Page.
by Ludolph Sept. 4, 2009

Sept. 4, 2009

Hi Sorry to drag this sorrow affair on to the mailing list but I need a consult from other SFD volunteers regarding the glug wiki page http://softwarefreedomday.org/teams/glug What happened is I "tablelized" the information on the page to make it easier to read but it was reverted to the old layout and then after a minute or two the table was back but without some information I added http://softwarefreedomday.org/teams/glug?action=diff&rev2=94&rev1=92 This behaviour do feel destructive and if the person would please raise his concerns on the added information here it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'm going to revert it back to my changes because I don't see anything wrong with it. But I do believe it will turn into a edit war and I don't have time for that. What do you guys think? Kind Regards,

SFD T-shirts @ SFD store
by Frederic Muller Sept. 4, 2009

Sept. 4, 2009

Dear all, I can see all pre-registered teams are starting to receive both SFD team pack and Ubuntu CDs. We've been receiving a few orders on our store (for extra T-shirts) the last 2 days and I wanted to remind everyone who is interested to get some extra T-shirts that they should order them before the end of the week in order to be sure to receive them for your events. We definitely appreciate your financial contributions to support Software Freedom International and the time and money you put in on your own events to make Software Freedom Day what it has become today! The store address is http://sfd.openfreeway.org/ and you can also find 2008 T-shirts for discounted price as collectors (I liked the orange color). Thanks a lot and all the best for your preparations. Fred Vice President, SFI
