SFD online store is up! Tshirts and TOCD packs

Hi everyone! As you all know, all teams that register prior to July 31st get some tasty SFD schwag to help make their events rock. We also now have the online store ready to go for teams that want to purchase additional tshirts or The Open CD packs! Remember, teams are also able to send a request for special consideration to the SFI Board to get extra goodies for free if they are unable to purchase more goodies but have a good case. So, the short of it is we're really pleased to announce our online store is ready to go! Tshirts are on there for AUD$30 but teams get them for AUD$15 each (AUD$15 = ~USD$12.50), and for the first time we also have The Open CD Packs (with 5 CDs) available for $25 ($12.50 for teams) so please ensure when you place any team orders that you tick the "Gift Voucher" box once you confirm your order which will apply the 50% discount before paying. The dicount code is: sfdt3@ms Don't worry about the "Redeem" button, it'll apply once you click Continue. Also, _ensure_ you also tick the "Comments" section of your order and add the size(s) you'd like and which team you are ordering for so we can bundle the new goodies in with your free SFD Team Pack! We'll then label the additional goodies such that you can determine who ordered more and which are the free schwag. The team discount only applies till 31st July, so get in quick! What does "Software Freedom" mean?

Hi, we are still trying to understand how to translate "Software Freedom Day" to Spanish, so let me ask another question: What does "Software Freedom" mean or refer to? I understand "Free Software", I'm just not sure how that's different from "Software Freedom", and if it's the same thing, why isn't the event called "Free Software Day" then? (providing an answer to that question would help a lot with translating it properly) Thanks! Marcelo

Buenas noches, Este mensaje va dirigido a los equipos inscritos que hablan español. En nuestro grupo (Costa Rica) nos preguntamos cuál es el nombre oficial del evento en español. Vimos que algunos de los grupos lo traducen como Día de la Libertad del Software, pero preferimos preguntar antes de hacer traducciones de los logos y comunicados de prensa y subirlas a la página. De paso, si alguno ha realizado algunas de estas traducciones les agradeceríamos que las compartan con nosotros. Pura vida ******* Good night, This message is intended to spanish speaking teams. We saw that some teams translated it as Día de la Libertad del Software, but we prefer to ask before translating logos and press releases, and then upload them to the page. From Hanoi and wondering from the rest of asia

It's been 4 years now we started to do the SFD in Ha Noi (Viet Nam) while looking at http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/map/2007 We started wondering why there's so few team in asia. If you have friends (or friends of friends) that live in the region. You should ring them and ask them to do something. I'm especially thinking of China who should have at least 2 teams. If you check more there's no team in north africa and none in Brazil. 110 teams registered!

Hi all, we now have over 110 teams already registered for SFD 2007! This is particularly exciting as we are still 2 1/2 months out. We'll be putting out a press release about SFD in the coming week, so if any teams want to polish up their pages for mass consumption, or provide us with some quotes for the PR that would be great!
