Hello all,
It's been way too long since the last release, and now I'm glad to announce
the new release 0.140 of Culmus fonts.
This is mostly a maintenance and refactoring release with two main
highlights being Hebrew romanization characters proposed and executed by
Aharon Varady, and nikkud support in Drugulin Bold.
The package is available for download at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/culmus/files/culmus/0.140 .
Wishing everyone peace 🎗️ and prosperity,
-- Maxim.

Hello all,
Recently I've been working on a substantial update to Frank Ruehl CLM, and
now I'm glad to publish it as a developers' preview on the Culmus site
<https://culmus.sourceforge.io/developers.html>.
The Frank Ruehl CLM family has been updated to the version 0.133.1, and it
contains the following changes:
1. Supported placement of HEBREW ACCENT OLE (used mainly for stressing
syllables).
2. Supported placement of HEBREW POINT METEG.
3. HEBREW YOD TRIANGLE and other Unicode additions.
4. Romanization symbols
<https://culmus.sourceforge.io/notes.html#romanization> for ISO-259 and
for Open Siddur Project <https://opensiddur.org/>.
Later this year I expect to publish this version in the main package
together with more updates for other fonts.
Best wishes on the upcoming Jerusalem Day,
-- Maxim.

Hello all,
I'm glad to announce that the Culmus Project now provides initial support
for Hebrew romanization
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Hebrew>. The new version
0.111 of the SimpleCLM font contains special Latin characters required for
proper transliteration of Hebrew letters, and it's available in the Preview
section of the Developers' Area
<https://culmus.sourceforge.io/developers.html>. There is also an overview
of general romanization requirements in the Notes section
<https://culmus.sourceforge.io/notes.html#romanization>.
The font was kindly provided by Aharon Varady. I would like to thank Aharon
both for this contribution and for his overall effort to promote the use of
free Hebrew fonts on the internet.
Best wishes for the new civil year,
-- Maxim.

Hello,
After a long period of silence, I'm sooooo glad to announce the new font
"Lulav CLM". This is a calligraphy-styled font and it comes in a single
Bold weight. With its addition the fancy collection
<https://culmus.sourceforge.io/fancy/index.html> expands to 14 fonts.
Please note that in some word processing software the font is listed under
its Hebrew name as "לולב", and it can be found at the very bottom of the
list of fonts.
This initial version of "Lulav" contains only letters, and I hope it would
be at least of some use for display typographic jobs. Usually my fonts
include at least the minimal punctuation and digits along with the letters,
but this time I felt that if I delay the publication yet again, it may just
never happen.
Hopefully, I will add more stuff in the future.
Happy non-holidays,
-- Maxim.
NOTE FOR MAINTAINTERS: Recently I performed some technical update for most
fancy fonts, so if you package them for a linux distribution, please
retrieve all fancy font files anew from the site.

Hello all,
The new release 0.130 of the Culmus fonts is available for download from
the site of the project <http://culmus.sourceforge.net>. This release
includes the Shofar font by Yoram Gnat, which has been available for a
while in the "Taamey Culmus" section. The font is inspired by Koren
type<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koren_Type>,
