Re: [SFD-discuss] Suggestion. Software Freedom event at Boston Public Library or Cambridge Public Library.
by Frederic Muller - DFF
Hi!
Well we do have a page about things one can organize for SFD on the wiki
at http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/StartGuide#What_should_we_do.3F
and then you have a resource page
http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/Resources to provide further tips,
files and stuff to showcase or help you to organize.
Now Seeing you are from Boston I'd say drop by at the FSF and try to
meet someone to discuss with them. Richard might not be at the office
but the people there are usually very motivated and full of idea. It's
probably a great place to start.
There are also a few GNOME people in town (used to be where the GNOME
Boston Summit is organized. Again GNOME people tend to be very motivated
and full of ideas and experiences regarding running events. I can
probably dig a few specific contacts if you need.
And better, you could meet both communities ;-)
Hope that helps. Don't hesitate to comment or ask for more!
Happy SFD!

Re: [SFD-discuss] SFD 2018 registration soft opening
by Frederic Muller - DFF
Hi!
No need to apologize, come on! Yes everything is changeable but maybe
some things can only be done by one of our sysadmins.
I suppose you want to change the name on the SFD Map page, since on the
wiki you can change everything by yourself. Also we can definitely help
rename your page as well if you need. Just confirm what you need exactly
and we'll act upon it.
Thank you and happy SFD!
Fred
ps: nice banner by the way :-P

Suggestion. Software Freedom event at Boston Public Library or Cambridge Public Library.
by Don Saklad
Looking for more ideas about developing a Software Freedom event at
Boston Public Library in association with the Boston Public Radio
twice weekly broadcast on WGBH from the Boston Public Library.
Or at Cambridge Public Library on the other side of the Charles River.

Hi!
For the countdown it is tricky. You can either host one yourself (we
explain how to do that in the wiki) or else we could host a 2nd version
for you. We have other French speaking teams using the "default" one so
we cannot modify that one.
To do that we would have to update the countdown code and probably add
another extension to the banner while still taking the files in the same
wiki directory. Are you interested?
Thank you.

Re: [SFD-discuss] Countdown currently available in 5 languages
by Frederic Muller - DFF
Hi!
As you can see from the Brazil page the countdown has been inserted by
placing this code below the country/city/team name in the page:
Comemore o SFD 2018 no sábado, 15 de Setembro|align="right"}}
Hope that answers your question.
Happy SFD!

Re: [SFD-discuss] SFD 2018 registration soft opening
by Frederic Muller - DFF
Hi!
Yes it seems you're the second person who didn't receive the email. We
are not sure why this is happening, it could also be your mail server
totally discarding the email as we are sure they are being sent
(especially since you also received the mailing list subscription).
In the meantime we did validate your registration and your event is
appearing on the map. So no problem on our end on that part or for
people to see your event when looking at the map.
Thank you to escalate the issue though and this is definitely something
we need to fix in the near future.
Happy SFD!

Re: [SFD-discuss] SFD 2018 registration soft opening
by Zephyr Waitzman
Hi, guys!
Yesterday, I registered for Xidian Open Source Community in Xi'an, China.
However, I don't receive registered confirm email until now except a
mail which is for confirming subscribe the sfd announce mailing list,
of course I reply to subscribe. Nothing else also is in spam.
Today, I check the map in SFD website which my team have been on. So,
does that mean my registration successful?
I think whether it's that I have registered a wiki account for editing
wiki page before this registration, so I don't receive other email
after submitting the form.

- Oh, and it looked so good on the website :-/
If you write up some article that explains the situation and asks for
sponsorship, we can try to help spread the word on social media
(depending on whether sponsorship vs. achieving the actual payment is
the main issue...). Kielux isn't huge, but it could be a start.
Just curious, if you have the time for it: Where did you move? And from
where? (or if there's an article about it, just link to it)
