Re: [SFD-discuss] Registration is open for Software Freedom Day 2008!
by Nurul Alam Masud
Dear Friend
I seen you add our name in SFD Bangladesh team page, thanks for that.
But there is a mistake in our organization name. Our organization name
is Participatory Research & Action Network-PRAN; not Participatory
Action and Research Network - PRAN. We'll happy if you put our correct
name in the page.
Please keep in touch.
Regards
Nurul Alam Masud
Chief Executive

Re: [SFD-discuss] Open Education Disc for SFD
by alan c
I downloaded the iso and noted the md5. However. the md5 appeared as
EC0F029FE50D907AEA5464AAFB21DAEC
which contains upper case characters which is something I have never
seen before.
I used k3b to burn the iso image to CD and the calculated md5sum is
displayed initially by k3b as it finds the image.
the md5sum shown by k3b for my download is is
0d6f2bf3d3559fb87b70c94e16eb953b
and k3b issued a worning:
================================
Warning
the image has an invalid file size
if it has been downloaded make sure the download is complete
================================
I am downloading it again just in case I had an error first time.
I will attempt to run the CD but I have not yet done this.

It does seem like a contradiction. I understand. I have created these
courses in various states of completion for the students in my school. For
child protection reasons I can not make them open unless i make copies and
put them somewhere. This has been something that I intend to do but I have
not got around to it yet. I am not sure how useful they would be as they
rely on the internet to link to various knoweldge sources and they are
specifically designed for the South Australian curriculum.

There is a wiki with materials on it for the South Australian IT curriculum
at http://sassit.wikispaces.com/
I hope to make some of the courses on my site available to others by the end
of the year

hello,
i try to download
http://www.watiwara.org/OpenEdDiscSFD08.iso
and i recieve
Wati Wara regrets to advise that this page does not exist.
so and now?
i am looking for moodle courses, with friends in africa we have an open
source informatic school. we are looking for moodle courses, but
unfortunately i go to the
http://www.watiwara.org/
and i made a registration (michel)
but all the courses are closed, i think it is a contradiction between
open source and closed courses. we have done some courses in africa and
we have put on a server all courses open. we don't have internet
connection in the school (too expensive) that why we would like to make
a zip file and to load it in our intranet of the school.
(i hope you understand my englisch, which so bad, sorry)

i would like to know your opinion and if you know where we can have
courses, which we can download it

Open Education Disc for SFD
by Peter Ruwoldt
Hi
I have uploaded an iso of the Open Education Disc without VLC for
distribution as part of SFD. I have also created an md5 verifier for the
iso. Links as follows
http://www.watiwara.org/OpenEdDiscSFD08.md5
http://www.watiwara.org/OpenEdDiscSFD08.iso
I would be grateful if someone with some bandwidth were able to download
this and check it out so that more than my eyes have looked at it.
Does the image work?
I've never done the md5 thing before - does it work?
Is the CD label OK?
Thanks in anticipation
Peter
