Hi! Well it's nice to read all this. I guess we sometimes go through similar situation over time, I know I have. The 2017 SFD wiki is ready (and has been ready since April IIRC) but the map registration is not. Let us complete this task by the end of the week. We'll post an announcement once it is complete. On the other things to do I would say maybe contact the local press and school. I know we've always partnered with local universities and colleges wherever I am located and you sometimes get to met teachers very interested in FOSS (and students for sure). Sometimes there are also local companies deploying FOSS internally and those are very good showcases (if you get to know/find them). Maybe others will want to chime in as well.
