Hi all I am pretty new to Dillo and would like to work on the downloads file. [dpi] Please could anyone guide me on the present structure and what enhancement or modifications to be made ? The overview of the current structure : 3 Structures - DownloadFile, DownloadStatus and DownloadWindow Api's to start and free new download, update status, list and create log, get download size and time, add download to list and start and close download. Also, api's for read socket and print list are provided. Can anyone tell me how to enhance this structure better ? Warm regards Vinod

What I was envisioning is having like ^N as a toggle that would put a number in a little box, black on white, before each link, or turn them off. If it was on, then any number entered would be interpreted as a command to go that URL. Seems like the code could be pretty easy, just numbering every link on the page rather than worrying about limiting this to the screenful that's up. Simple incrementation, right? Thanks to the guidance of Paul, Kelson, and Madis, I know have Dillo 0.8.0 installed and configured and it looks VERY sharp and several things have obviously been corrected, such as being able to just hit Space to move down a screenful and without having to use the mouse at all. If I encounter any difficulties I will submit a bug report. I was really serious about this: I'm one of these weirdos that doesn't like to fondle plastic rodents :-) and wonder how difficult it would be to have an option that would number all the links on a page and allow one to enter that number instead of clicking on the link. I use w3m a lot for my-1st stage surfing, and it allows me to Tab down to a link and then hit Return, but that's pretty clumsy. (When I encounter a site needing a closer look, I bring up Dillo, although this would be easier, come to think of it, if I just used Dillo and disabled image downloading at first. That IS possible??)

I took the safe route and just mved my current sources.list to sources.list~ and then created a new one with the above entries and followed your directions (while connected to the internet). But, I jumped into attempting to compile 0.8.0 after reading Kelson's reply and just installing the glib-dev files then got these warnings from config: configure: WARNING: *** No libz found. Disabling PNG images *** configure: WARNING: *** No libjpeg found. Disabling jpeg images.*** So I guess I better delete the sources dir and start over again... Thanks a lot. Kelson and Madis, Thanks much. Having a rough time here. I've only used apt-get with the CDs (which are the only entries in my /etc/apt/sources.list) Everything went fine except.... apt-get install libpng2-dev Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies: libpng2-dev: Depends: zlib1g-dev but it is not going to be installed E: Sorry, broken packages So then I did: apt-get install zlib1g-dev Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies: zlib1g-dev: Depends: zlib1g (= 1:1.1.3-18) but 1:1.1.4-1 is to be installed E: Sorry, broken packages So apparently I need zlib1g-dev_1.1.4-1.0woody0_i386.deb which matches my version of zlib1g and found it at ftp.debian.org but don't know where to go from here. Currently trying to make sense of the apt man pages :-) Tom

Dillo NEEDS >glib My guess: apt-get install libglib1.2-dev libgtk1.2-dev It sounds like you have the glib libraries, but not the development files on your box. You'll need the gtk devel files also, and between the two of them they should pull in anything else required. Kelson Vibber www.hyperborea.org

Greetings Dillo People, I ran into a problem compiling Dillo from the latest tarball, and didn't want totarget anyone specifically, so I hope you don't mind me posting this here.... Been over and over the INSTALL file. I downloaded, extracted, read install and readme, then run ./configure. So maybe it's lost at the download. Or maybe some of my software has a bug (I already have a candidate: Linux FAT-FS). But anyway it's my fault from Dillo's point of view. Because a file being no there which should be already there, that would have lead to many reports. So I download it again. That should fix it.
