make errors won't compile

Greetings all, I am new to Dillo. I just heard about it on the openbsd.org site and it sounded like just what i'm looking for. I am having a problem with 'Make' however, i was hoping someone might be able to give some useful insight. This is a base openbsd 2.8 install, (trying it on this machine first), with nothing unusual and a GENERIC kernel. `Make check' dies with the following: #sudo make check Making check in doc Making check in src "Makefile", line 307: Need an operator Fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue *** Error code 1 Stop in /home/${user}/dillo-0.6.6 (line 161 of Makefile). I am including my `sh ./configure', which appeared ok. After realising that autoconf > 2.13 was required, I also realised that on my mandrake both are actually installed, with a script linked to /usr/bin/autoconf . The trick with this script was to export the environment needed to use the higher version, and on my mandrake the trick was to first "export WANT_AUTOCONF_2_5=1" .. then the rest. If someone knows of an important dist which does not yet contain Gtk2, please report this. I've looked at Pekka's patch (the more recent one, with Pango support, this is interesting for M17n), which does not yet integrate in the current CVS. There are some more complicated problems with recent changes, especially with findtext and related, which examine parts of words. Unfortunately, my knowledge of Pango is currenly zero. I had the same problem with autoconf v2.13.
