This is most likely because of the server sending an Expires attribute that is malformed. What happens is that ACCEPT_SESSION makes this server misbehaviour being ignored. Bug or feature? Is this an issue with cookies? Edit ~/.dillo/cookiesrc and add the domains in question to ACCEPT. Hi all, Hope this is the correct place for this. Certainly enjoy using Dillo, can't wait for later versions to come out. Am I missing something or will this not work in Dillo. If I want to post at http://bsdforums.org I first sign in, then I go to post but I am told I am not signed in. This is also the case with trying to log into http://my.yahoo.com Just wondering if I am overlooking something or if this is not capable with Dillo. Workaround for bugs 396 & 445 (entities display)

Hello, all Dillo developers ! As mentioned in HTML 4.01 spec what should be done when html renderer cannot display a symbol is up to renderer. Current code renders all characters with code 0..255 but skip all the others silently. I prefer lynx/links approach to this problem. If they should display symbol which cannot be displayed properly in current locale they render ascii-only representation of this symbol, e.g. "α" -> "a", "Χ" -> "X", "&lowast;" -> "*". Included small patch does that for all entities mentioned in html.c and this table is much more compact than links' one and does not allow transliteration of foreign language as links does. I believe that this patch is a temporary solution for this problem and when dillo migrates on GTK2 and this problem will be solved mush more reliable and elegant way by using standard symbol fonts via fontsets. I should mention also that if your encodings is not ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) then you should probably use Russian patch http://stuphead.asplinux.ru/dillo/index.html for localization. It shall be updated soon to translate entities to your encoding and show representations for others. Yours, Nikita

Fake FTP support?

I was able to add FTP support to my copy of Dillo with a one line patch in IO/Url.c: static UrlMethod2_t cccList[] = { {"http" , a_Http_ccc}, + {"ftp" , a_Http_ccc}, {"file" , a_File_ccc}, Of course this is cheating becuase it requires an http proxy server. But given that I have such a server running, ftp in Dillo works well. Perhaps Dillo could look at the ftp_proxy environment variable, or an ftp_proxy option in the config file, and if it is set use that option to handle ftp URLs by sending http requests to the proxy. I don't know what the maintainers will think of this idea. From one point of view it is a good thing to do because it doesn't add duplicate ftp-handling code to Dillo itself - the proxy server already has code to make ftp requests and translate them to web pages, so why not use it? On the other hand the maintainer may feel that ftp should be either fully supported within Dillo or not supported at all. (Using an external program for ftp is okay, but having the ftp sites shown directly within Dillo is much smoother and faster. You can use the Back button, for example.) But anyway I hope some people find the patch useful in the short term. -- Ed Avis <ed(a)membled.com>
