Dillo as a component (library)

2 questions: Is there an intention to have dillo expose itself as a library, i noticed sylpheed, but more generally it would be nice to have libdillo or something (for other things). Recovering health.

Hi there, Sorry about being absent from the list the past few days. I caught what here's called "rotavirus", it starts with stomach problems and when you recover, it knocks you with a heavy cold! That's several days, staying in bed, etc... (I'm now recovering from the cold). What we were doing? Ah yes, trying to make the 0.7.3 release. Well, as the bug discovered requires an extensive revision of the incremental resize mechanism, we decided to tag current CVS as 0.7.3-pre and upload 0.8.0-pre there and to continue as if it was released. Once there's a patch that fixes the bug, 0.7.3 will be released to the public, but in the meanwhile we'll be working on 0.8.0-pre. I updated the dpi1 spec (to be commited after this email), and hope to upload my 0.8.0-pre tarball before Sunday. Thorben: I sent a couple of emails to your auriga address, but got no answer. Maybe they were filtered as SPAM (some servers filter softhome, and I don't blame them!). That's why I'm writing to you here. Did you receive them? How is the email accounts enabling process at auriga going on? Ah, and I received a couple of SPAM rejection notes from external servers for SPAM delivered by our list. Is it possible to hook SpamAssassin to dillo-dev so it filters out SPAM? Best Jorge.-

[PATCH] <Q> quotations

Hi! I've patched Dillo-CVS to do quotes, just like described in HTML 4.01 Spec. (http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/text.html#h-9.2.2) but w/o the cite argument. The reason why there is no cite argument is 1) because i don't know how to parse/access an argument (no big problem, i'll just learn) 2) i don't know how to display it. I find the whole quotation being an anchor a bit annoying, so i'd like you to give me feedback on the patch and how to show the cite-argument. RPM for Mandrake 9.1 PPC

I figured out what I was doing wrong with the installer, and I got Mandrake set up. I didn't have to make any changes to dillo.spec for once - all I had to do was install some devel pacakges that Mandrake includes, but doesn't install by default. An RPM for Mandrake 9.1 PowerPC is now available. http://www.hyperborea.org/software/dillo/ After the frustration of trying to get this installed in the first place, and a slightly better understanding of BootX which suggests that booting multiple versions of Linux on the same system will be inconvenient at best, I think I'm going to wait a while before I tackle anything else. RPM for Mandrake 8.2, fixed SRPM for older distributions

I actually posted the files last Thursday, but I didn't get around to announcing it. I now have an RPM suitable for Mandrake 8.2 (and presumably Mandrake 8.1 and 8.0, but I don't have those to test it.) http://www.hyperborea.org/software/dillo/ In the process, I discovered a bug that prevented the SRPM from building on older versions of RPM. To handle the various menu structures, I used nested %if statements like "if Mandrake then X; else if SuSe then Y; else Z." RPM used to have problems with this. It's been fixed in recent releases, and it looks like it was backported for the version in SuSE 8.2, but Mandrake 8.2 (and probably older Red Hat and SuSE versions) would not be able to rebuild the SRPM. I've fixed that, so the SRPM should work on more systems now. If you were trying to use it and got errors about boolean expressions returning -1, try it again and let me know if it's still broken. I mentioned a while back that I might be able to add a few PPC distributions. That's turning out to be a problem, since I can't seem to install anything on the machine (a PowerBase Mac clone running Mac OS 8.5). I've tried Mandrake PPC 9.1 and Yellow Dog 2.3 so far. Mandrake's script for configuring BootX to run the installer won't work, and the docs for setting it up manually are sparse, so it's all trial and error. Yellow Dog sets up BootX fine, but the installer keeps crashing in the middle of installing glibc. Latest RPM Download Statistics (July) 270 Red Hat 9 avg 9.6/day 161 Mandrake 9 avg 5.8/day 120 Source RPM avg 4.3/day 107 Red Hat 7 avg 3.8/day 100 Red Hat 8 avg 3.6/day 82 SuSE 8 avg 2.9/day 7 Mandrake 8 avg 1.8/day (only available for 4 days) RH 9 is still the top download, but Mdk 9 has displaced the SRPM as #2. I do still wonder about the people grabbing the SRPMs. I haven't gotten many responses to the survey, and most of those were useless. People would select "Other" and then not say what distribution they wanted it for, or they would select "Older Mandrake Linux" but not say what version. Filter out all of those and anything applying to Mandrake 8, and only 3 requests remain: 1 each for SuSE 7, Red Hat 6, and Mandrake 9 PPC. Kelson Vibber www.hyperborea.org

Hi, I use Sylpheed-Claws and it is a matter of enabling the Dillo plugin (do "./configure --help" to see all the options--I think you want --enable-dillo-viewer-plugin IIRC). After you install claws, you have to "turn on" the plugin. Go to Configuration > Plugins and Load the plugin (mine is in /usr/local/lib/sylpheed/plugins--yours may not be depending on how you installed claws).
