CyaSSL is a cross-platform, embedded SSL library; here's its homepage: http://www.yassl.com/yaSSL/Home.html I started using it with the Windows version because it has an OpenSSL-compatible API, and a much smaller footprint -- 1.3 MB with CyaSSL versus 1.7 MB with OpenSSL. (I like that in 2011, Dillo can still fit on a floppy disk!) It's not quite as big a deal on Unix, since most distributions ship with OpenSSL, but I think it fits nicely with Dillo's goal of high software efficiency. The CyaSSL patch actually doesn't change any source code, just some linker flags. I should mention that the code to handle HTTP CONNECT requests for proxying SSL is a rather ugly kludge, since I wasn't sure how to correctly hook that through the CCC's. I *would* like to add that my implementation is more secure than the DPI, since there's no Unix domain sockets or other interprocess communication to worry about. I looked at the log and saw this error message: Nav_open_url: new url='dpi:/vsource/:about:splash' ** ERROR **: [Dpi_read_comm_keys] No such file or directory (ENOENT) Dpi_start_dpid: Not enough memory (ENOMEM) ** ERROR **: dpi.c: can't start dpi daemon I tried to view the source of the splash page. Is there really not enough memory or is this a follow-up error to the first one? Georg

FLTK 1.3 and current development version

I have some trouble using Dillo 1.3. When I click on the "Book" icon, select "view page source" from the menu or try to load a page from disk I get the message: "ERROR: can't start dpid daemon (URL scheme='dpi') or 'file' What could be a possible cause for this problem? Where in the code does it try to start this daemon? Georg

FLTK 1.3 and current development version

Thank you for your messages. I had used Mercurial for Windows and after moving the files to Linux the "IO" directory had become an "io" directory so autogen.sh did not run right away. This had irritated me. I managed to get autogen.sh run now. Georg

Latest round of Win32 patches

In case anyone's still interested, I've got the latest round of Win32 patches up: http://dillo-win32.sourceforge.net/dillo/patches.php It's still based on dillo2, but since most of the patches are "behind the scenes" (network code, etc.), they should work fine with dillo3. (I'm planning to switch over eventually.) Apart from the portability code, most of it isn't even Windows-specific; I've personally been using it quite a bit lately on OpenBSD. Some highlights: - Cleaned up sockets portability layer (dsock) - Transparent SSL support (through dsock) using OpenSSL/CyaSSL - Built-in libcurl-based downloader with glitch-free user interface ;-) - Built-in preferences GUI (no manual dillorc editing needed) - Sane in-memory cookies implementation (no cookies.txt needed) - Various small tweaks, usability improvements, and bugfixes Just thought I'd share, ~Benjamin

PS I put a small amount of effort into hidden inputs with the input's name to the left of the box yesterday. Modifying requisition/allocation to add the room was easy, but I haven't figured out how to trigger the label drawing.

Hi, I'm giving a look into the old dragging-tooltip bug: e.g. show an HTML image's tooltip, then scroll out of it with keyboard or mousewheel, and the tooltip will not be erased. Funny how FltkTooltip::onLeave() is called, but the tooltip window stays anyway. Has anybody looked into this one? BTW, does anyone know how to debug into FLTK with gdb? In Fl::set_fonts() in fl_set_fonts_xft.cxx, it strips it down to "?????,?????:style=Medium", and then make_raw_name() has the comment // It is still possible that the "pretty" name has multiple comma separated entries // I've seen this often in CJK fonts, for example... Keep only the first one... This // is not ideal, the CJK fonts often have the name in utf8 in several languages. It works for me if I use font_sans_serif="?????" As for whether this behaviour is better or worse than using the romanized name, I don't know. It's a bunch of cleanups and a couple of workarounds. It looks like for some unknown reason the rectangular area below the file name and to the left of "Time" is erased. I like the way Escape cancels dialogs in dillo, and also during these months enjoyed Escape hiding panels too. So, more or less, I'd like to keep it that way. Bug: currently Escape hides the findbar only when it has focus. I'd remove KEYS_FULLSCREEN, and redefine KEYS_HIDE_PANELS to close the findbar if it's visible, and all the panels when the findbar is not visible. Comments? -- Cheers Jorge.-

can't bind action to backslash

Alexander discovered that binding an action to backslash does not work. I was thinking that the line-continuation code in dGetline came from Tim's work on the parser, but it appears to have been there since the dawn of dillo2. I personally would be tempted to remove the special code for '\' because I'd be surprised if we keep this possibility in mind every time that we use dGetline() somewhere -- and I don't believe it's documented anywhere. But if there's resistance to that, then there are also the options of 1) Making it a line continuation character only if everything following it is whitespace. 2) A special key name for backslash.

Dear Dillo Developers, I would like to propose a small change in Dillo's link menu (the menu which pops up when you right click on a link), which I think would increase the usability a bit. The current link menu shows as first item "Open link in new window", and as the second item "Open link in new tab". I think it would be more convenient for the user to have these two interchanged, because It seems that the users use tabs more than multiple browser windows. What do you think?
