animated GIF's

Hi to all Dillo developers, Thank's to Jorge to point me out the right way to communicate with Dillo developers. I have an embedded system based on Geode( another x86 embedded implementation) and trying to run Dillo on it. Everything's fine till the moment I want to show an animated GIF. I did include few changes into the "gif.c" to handle animated GIF's as frame timeout and iteration counter. Because of lack of time and knowledge of gtk+ I do not know how to show consecutive frames( I start to read gtk+,gdk FAQ, Tutorials and so on 2 weeks ago). Of cource animated GIF must be run with fork or as pthread in Dillo but for now I am interested to find out how I could show different frames. After I got frame data from the cache gif.c is returning to cache server and then I am missing the part what signal or event in Dillo is triggering displaying of frame. No, we haven't implemented animated GIFS. I think gtk's timeout functions are a good choice for triggering the frame display change. I'd start there. The main reason for separating the tables was to make clear what was the workaround and what the code to be used with UCS in the future. The other is that the second table can be ordered by isocode and thus allow for a bin search instead of the slow linear search the patch uses. While reviewing it in more depth, I found a bug in dillo's code (fixed in CVS), and made a small UCS to latin converter that help in very weird pages like: http://www.michigan.gov/minewswire/ 0,1607,7-136-3452_3518-51568--M_2002_9,00.html (all in one line) Finally, I can't see (yet) how having this entitites character representation helps when using another character set (as with the russian encoding workaround), unless you first convert the regular HTML character encoding into the current locale! Hi Jorge, I poked around usenet and was told that I'd have to get X running on the Zaurus, and then GTK, and that it is difficult to get GTK on the Z, and that it would be better to move Dillo to use Qtopia. XFT Patch

I have found one form which seems not to work with dillo but with netscape. Unfortunately, that is a form for a transferal from a bank and it works fine with the demo account, so that is really hard to test. Does anyone know if that is a bug in dillo and/or how to fix that? Jorge, at least while we wouldn't have normal cache in dillo (I mean cached page expiration) it would not be much reason to work on it further. After that approach must be diffent, values should be saved in cache (or in file ?) not in browser window. Is there any reason to leave table without representations in place and add a new one _with_ them which differs only in representations field and (possible) bigger number of entities ? In future (GTK2 internals) all representations definition and use could be cut from source code and I don't see any problem or pain with it, corresponding changes will be not so big. IMHO all progress we can do now is entering more entities in table. In any case I interested in further progress in this way. P.S. Entities you mention cannot be translated from UCS2 (encoding used in HTML numeric entities) to UTF-8. Lynx/links do not show that also. Yours, Nikita

I just upgraded 0.7.0 to 0.7.2 on my LFS-4.0 system. It compiled and installed without errors, and seems to run just as 0.7.0 did. However, althougth I can select text, I cannot find a menu to cut or paste the selected text. How is this done?

Did you try that with Yahoo? Because Yahoo uses javascript to create the login page. I think that's the reason it doesn't work as it should!
