IIRC the ENABLE_IPV6 stuff was because resolving was slower for IPV4 with the IPV6 code. I don't know whether this is still the case. Maybe portability is also an issue. Please send me two patches. One with a_Dns_dillohost_to_string() and another removing the ifdefs. If we get no comments on this thread, a commit experiment may take place. -- Cheers Jorge.-

[patch]: improve the build of dpidrc

I've been studying the DPI code (hoping to work on SSL) and I noticed that installing dpidrc is rather hacky. The info page "(automake.info) Scripts" describes a standard way to do this using a template. This is simpler because we only explicitly code the build rule in Makefile.am and automake installs it as normal, so there's no messing around with $(datadir), $(DESTDIR) etc. Also, changes such as making the https dpi into a server rather than a filter will only affect the template and won't require changing Makefile.am. The patch is attached. It creates a new source file dpid/dpidrc.in which must be added to CVS. Regards, Jeremy Henty

Hi! I've lurked for a couple days, and seeing that this is an active list, thought I'd say "hi." Hi! At the moment, I'm a casual Dillo user, but I definitely like the browser and the idea behind it. I'd love to contribute, and when I've had a chance to sourcedive a bit and check out the bugtracker, you may see a thing or two from me. Things I'm interested in working on at the moment are adding options to configure keybindings (and if that ends up happening, maybe creating CUA (most graphical applications)/Emacs/vi/Conkeror/Firefox (probably not all of the above, but at least a couple) easily-loadable keymaps), and possibly adding surfraw support as an optional module (I haven't thought about how to implement these or anything; just brainstorming), and maybe find-as-you-type searching. (I know that sounds like a list of complaints, but it's not meant that way at all.) I'll likely play around with some of this stuff at some point, but if you have any ideas/tips on where to look for relevant code/how to go about it, sweet! Er. How's that for an introduction? What do you guys think about limiting the https certificate errors to one per page request, and not one per each item within the page request. Hopefully that makes sense. In dillo2: - This enables the SPAM safe mode (no images/resource loading). - It doesn't embed the window because we don't yet know how to do it. - Full screen is ignored - The URL is shown. It sent me a confirmation string or some such thing, which I pasted in wherever I was supposed to paste it in, and got something like "no, this confirmation is no good". And thanks to that, my email addr is already in use and it won't let me try again.
