Guys, last year you promised washing the T-Shirt will not result again in having all clothes in the washing machine in the very same color. But now its the same thing again. You didn't try this before again? Come on, I am disappointed about this point. This may not happen twice! Regards, Thilo
No we didn't try, but used a different supplier who assured us it wouldn't happen. Everything was done in a rush and we trusted them. I tried last night and.... :'( Fred Thilo Pfennig wrote:

+1 The t-shirts lose their colour on washing and stain other items. It's a shame ... otherwise every time I come to the event. Hi All: I had the same thing here in South Australia last year when we had those bright orange shirts. You have to wash them separately in a bucket soaking overnight with laundry powder, then rise them thouroughly at least 2 to 3 times with clean water until all excess dye is gone, then dry them out on the line. After this process they are usually fine to go through the main wash with everything else in they need washing again in the future. Not sure what the dye is made of, but if its vegetable based, a teaspoon of salt in the laundry usually stops the running. Sameer
With this years green shirts, I didn't have an issue with the wash. My wife washed the shirt with all of our other cloths and no dye bleed into the other cloths. Ken On Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 5:58 PM, Sameer Verma <sverma@sfsu.edu> wrote:

My wife washed them separate just like she always does with new stuff. We've never had a problem with any of the SFD shirts running because we expect any dyed stuff to possibly run the first time it's washed and always do this. I wasn't around to see the water this time but I recall one of the previous orange shirts ran pretty bad the first wash too.

This time the colour seems to be fast. A little colour can bleed on the first wash. If it continues to bleed on subsequent washes, then it is definitely not colour fast. Best A. Mani -- A. Mani ASL, CLC, AMS, CMS http://www.logicamani.co.cc
