Hi, You could convince them that Its Free Software and to be distributed for FREE. Then they might not charge. They think its a Commercial Software/OS. I had the same issue last year and they had got stuck in the Indian Post. I collected it after explaining to the wat is Ubuntu, FOSS and other related concepts. Thanks!

The box has a notice from Canonical explaining that the CDs are free promotional materials and there should be no customs due. Unfortunately not every country sees things the same way and every year someone somewhere has to pay, or at least argue with customs, before they can get their CDs. I don't think any of the New Zealand teams have ever had this problem though... On 20 August 2010 18:56, Mohammed Sanaulla <sanaulla123@gmail.com> wrote:

We, in Nepal, also have had the same problem. Cheers, Subir -- Subir B. Pradhanang FOSS Nepal Community http://www.fossnepal.org Mobile: +977-9841268738
Very odd. We got our package at Manipal, Karnataka without any of that. On 20 August 2010 13:21, Subir Pradhanang <subirbp@gmail.com> wrote:

yes, and also tell them that the custom duties valuation do not make sense. Rs 850 would mean you ordered about 1500 CDs as per the value declared In my case, I told them that it was to pass without any duty and it did eventually. Best A. Mani -- A. I do not know about Bangladesh Custom duties Tell them that 1. the valuation is wrong. 2. the cds should be (almost) duty free 3. For 100cds the declared value is 17 Euro and also mention the things in the previous posts With $240, you can produce about 12,00 custom DVDs with labels :) Best A. Mani -- A. Hi friends, Finally I got my CD Package without paying any money: I dont know what happend, but earlier i had told the courier guys that you have to deliver me the CD- it is for educational purpose not for any commercial use. Apparently they made some correspondence with their head office also, and finally gave me the CD package without making me pay any money Glad about that Wishes to everyone who are preparing for the Big Day ! prinson http://sfd2009.fireflies.in On 21 August 2010 05:22, A.
