Has anyone consider getting in touch with the Open Knowledge Foundation Network OKFN?
Good idea! We haven't approached other organization regarding EFD yet, we should definitely talk to as much OER related communities and organizations as we can like Wikieducator, OER Commons, Open Courseware Consortium, Hewlett Foundation, Open University, Connexions... If you or anybody are in touch with any OER or education oriented communities or organizations, please help us to spread the word! We would be happy to have more communities or organizations supporting EFD. Don't hessitate to get us or Fred in touch with them as well. Thanks, Pockey

Announcements may be somewhat out of scope for Wikinews, but well, Linux Magazin has already covered this [1], so why not to give it a try?

PS. I'm pretty sure that, OTOH, the report of the celebration of EFD worldwide /will be/ very well within the scope.
