Hi Judy,
Thanks for your comments. I'm going to push back a little bit, because we need good reasons for adding language here, and I'd like to hear more from you about why you think the changes should be made.
I think that "empower...to connect" in the vision statement implies accessibility, though I think I could be convinced that explicitly stating the word would be good.
accessibility...means that persons can be able to acquire..eg Software at their request...'it will be available' unlike connecting........because my question would be, connecting where? to what?....if it still does not make sense...then it is just fine that way....but a clearance on if need be,can I acquire eg a an open source software? In #3...is there an age limit? too young or too old to be involved? make it as open as possible and the gender part just to encourage females....because you find that in most instances...these become male dominated by default...but if you see 'regardless of gender', then we have an equal balance. These are just my thoughts...not meaning that they must be there......I have an 'open mind'. Is there anyone with comments on these matters....? Kind Regards, I think that gender and age are implicitly not our concern in #3, and
listing "gender" and "age" will get us all kinds of requests to add "race", "creed", "sexual orientation", etc. Let's keep it shorter and simpler unless there's a pressing reason to address a particular type of inequality there.
Regards, Matt
This is good! would like to just add a few words,if possible: In vision..... I would like to add: Accessible and in objectives,(3)would like to add : regardless of gender and age
Kind Regards,
