SFD 2022 registration is finally open!
Dear all, Another year and another... oops. You can now register your event on the 2022 SFD Map, you'll of course need to have a wiki page for that as usual. But a lot of you did create your event wiki page already. The process is: 1. Create a wiki account if you don't already have one 2. Create a wiki page in your area under http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2022/ then country/city/team 3. Go to https://www.softwarefreedomday.org/cgi-bin/register.py and let us know exactly who and where you are. At the end of all this you'll appear on the SFD 2022 Map here with all the other teams https://www.softwarefreedomday.org/map/ and be easy to spot. This year, due to the late opening we've added the event date. By default it is September 17, 2022 after registration. We're looking at how to get that from a wifi page automatically so you can change that date and give you more time for preparation. We'll put up a guide somewhere soon (today). Last we, as a board (and me personally), have done a terrible job organizing SFD (and other events) over the past few years. We are therefore stepping down and will continue this discussion about the handover on the sfd-discuss mailing list. 2023 will be our 20th anniversary and we sincerely hope we can find a better team to run SFD by then! Thank you for your patience. So all the best and get have a happy Software Freedom Day 2022. Thank you very much again! The Digital Freedom Foundation
