[SFD-TC] Welcome to SFD 2006!
Hi everyone, It's time to get started on team plans for celebrating Software Freedom Day 2006, and this mailing list will be the primary means by which the SFD organizers make announcements to you, the SFD team leaders. DATE: SFD '06 will officially be held on Saturday, September 16th. WEB: The SFD website is still at http://softwarefreedomday.org, even though this mailing list is at sf-day.org. (sf-day.org will soon be updated to point to the website.) In 2006 we can once again offer a limited amount of sponsored materials to prepared teams who apply for it; these sponsored materials will be SFD CDs (TheOpenCD + Ubuntu Live) for distribution to the public and a more limited number of t-shirts for SFD team members. We are not yet taking applications for sponsored materials, but we will post an announcement on softwarefreedomday.org and to this list when the sponsorship application period begins. Note: We will say more about this later, but the best way to obtain these sponsored materials for your team's celebration is by carefully planning an effective event. Get started now by finding a location and planning the nature of your event -- check out the StartGuide for more help: http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/StartGuide Welcome to SFD 2006, and we hope you all have a great time and effectively educate the public about Software Freedom! As always, please email info -at- softwarefreedomday.org with any questions or comments. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello everyone, greetings from SFD Bangladesh Team! We celebrated SFD last year, but sadly, lot of things went wrong. We were a bit disorganized and didn't had a clearing planning. But this year, we started planning early -- we don't want to make the same mistakes again! We've already talked to couple of potential partners (NGOs, schools and universities), and all of them showed a lot of enthusiasm and interest. If everything goes OK, then year's SFD celebration in Bangladesh will be grand! :) We'll be adding more contents on the Bangladesh wiki page, so stay tuned! Best regards, Russell Matt Oquist wrote:
