Dear all, After a year of silence we're officially celebrating Software Freedom Day again. Covid had and is still having a big impact on our decisions to promote meetings, as for most of us, online events mean servers running free software and having enough bandwidth to make it happen. Nevertheless this year we did open registration end of June and had some discussions on the usual discussion list. So SFD is this Saturday, 18th September 2021. A few teams had to celebrate it earlier (and registered) and we are sure a few teams will celebrate it later. Registration is the same as usual: 1. Create an account on our wiki (if you don't already have one) 2. Create a wiki page under 2021/country/city/team as usual 3. Register your team at https://www.softwarefreedomday.org/cgi-bin/register.py We have the same guides to organize events at https://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/StartGuide and have added an extra page for online events here https://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/VideoConferencing Hopefully you'll stay safe as much as possible and follow local guidelines. You can also join current planned events online or decide to organize your own. We wish you a lot of fun, learning and discovering during that time, and for the rest of the year. For those in the USA (or close enough time zone) there is also a National Civic Hacking Day at Code for America. Thank you for your support over the years and happy Software Freedom Day 2021!
