Hi, so, talk about your plans!
I'm also thinking about hardware. I think I can borrow computers from friends and their work places, but that it might be useful to borrow brand new LCD screens from local computer shops. The shops each have a few nice, very large LCD screens in their sales area and tend to close early (or completely) on Saturday. So it would be an easy way for them to get publicity if they were to loan a screen or two for that day. No changes would be needed with screens. I'll have to find some contacts at the shops and see what they think of it. I guess each screen would have a business card on it saying which company is loaning it out and contact information for the business. I think the profit on the screens and peripherals may be higher for the shops than for the computers. If people upgrade their computr with F/OSS software or systems, that means more money to spend on 'smaller' purchases like screens. -Lars Lars Nooden (lars@umich.edu) On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog ... ... until you start barking.
