Re: [SFD-discuss] SFD-discuss Digest, Vol 9, Issue 20
Hello all you guys We are trying to move forward our SFD celebrations to 29 September instead of the official date of 15 September. Do you think there could be a problem with that? Most of our members (LCZ) won't be able to make the 15 September date and we have agreed that the 29th will be more convenient. Robert and Pia, if you can see this email please can you respond? I've been trying to contact you but the mails are bouncing back. TIA Rumbi

This isn't official, but we had to change the event date in Bathurst, Australia to 22/9/2007 due to access restrictions and I have seen other events listed on the mailing list and web site starting about 10/9/2007 and others changing the date due to local conditions or events. IMHO, whilst everyone holding the event on the same day would be nice, the world doesn't fit into nice boxes so the actual Software Freedom Day 2007 event is more important than the date. If I'm wrong please correct me! Steve Software Freedom Day Instigator Bathurst, NSW, Australia

Absolutely. As close as people can get to running the event on the same day is great, however if it is culturally, religiously, or just plain more convenient and relevant locally to run SFD on another day, please do so. Just make sure you have the day clearly on your SFD team page so people that find your team through the website can come to your event on the right day :) Cheers, Pia -- Software Freedom Day 2007 http://softwarefreedomday.org/
