Dear Nathaniel, I see you've been starting to create pages under Brazil and BRA in the wiki. You also added states in the structure which from previous years (2011 and 2010) doesn't seem necessary. First Brazil and BRA is a duplicated entry and makes it confusing so we'll keep Brazil as we have used in the past. Have you considered checking with the Brazilian community first as well? planning-pt@ mailing list would be a good start, sfd-discuss@ as well (copied on this email). Also if you're having specific issues please let me know. Currently there is no template for country in Brazilian/Portuguese but that is easy to fix (when you know how to speak that language - which I don't). I will do some initial cleanup and deletion and then we can try to work out a solution from there. Thanks. Fred
A few edits later I created a Portuguese Country template using Google translate and fixed the linking of those new Brazilian pages. Someone may want to take a look at http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountryPtTemplate and fix my (well Google's) Portuguese. I've noticed that in the existing City and Team template created not by me, the word team is either translated into Time or Equipe. Is this something different in pt-pt and pt-br? Current templates use Equipe. Thanks. Fred On 06/01/2012 02:18 PM, Frederic Muller - SFI wrote:

In Portuguese from Portugal, the correct word is "Equipa". Best regards, Carlos On Fri, Jun 1, 2012 at 7:35 AM, Frederic Muller - SFI < fred@softwarefreedomday.org> wrote:

Hi Frederic 2012/6/1 Frederic Muller - SFI <fred@softwarefreedomday.org>:
A few edits later I created a Portuguese Country template using Google translate and fixed the linking of those new Brazilian pages.
The template to brazilian is ok, but I could not create the page to my city. I don't have permission.
Someone may want to take a look at http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountryPtTemplate and fix my (well Google's) Portuguese. "Equipe" and "Time" are ok, but Equipe is better. Some words are diferent betwen pt-pt and pt-br :-) Regards, -- Paulo Henrique de Lima Santana http://www.phls.com.br Tel. (41) 9638-1897 GNU/Linux user: 228719 GPG ID: 0443C450

FYI, for pt-br "Equipe" is the correct word, "Time" is an informal expression. For pt-pt it is "Equipa", one of the words that is still different... Best regards, -- Marcos Marado

Best regards,
Copying the Portuguese list and apologies for not being able to speak the language. We can easily create 2 different sets of templates for pt-br and pt-pt. I was actually waiting for confirmation whether the word could be the same or not. Apparently not, so I'd vote for 2 sets (especially since there is no cost to it and we reuse them each year). I will need help from someone familiar with the 2 languages to update them (country, city and team) and eventually update pages already created. Though I believe people in Brazil have already made the newly created pages 'correct'. I did the page renaming and creation and you guys can supervise and update their content now. List of files to check are: http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountryPtPtTemplate http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CityPtPtTemplate http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/TeamPtPtTemplate http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountryPtBrTemplate http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CityPtBrTemplate http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/TeamPtBrTemplate I also updated http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2012/ to reflect the new choices. Feel free to update the 2 Portuguese boxes if you feel there is a better way to phrase it (less geeky maybe?). Thanks a lot. Fred

Frederic, The page to Brazil is ok now. I put some text there. http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2012/Brazil I created the city "Curitiba" and the team "GUD-BR-Curitiba". -- Paulo Henrique de Lima Santana http://www.phls.com.br Tel. (41) 9638-1897 GNU/Linux user: 228719 GPG ID: 0443C450
