Countdown available in English and French for now.
Dear all, We just enabled English and French (had to do 70 pngs...). We'll do the language we speak and for existing ones, it's only 3 images to redo. Those languages are: - Portuguese-Brasil - Portuguese-Portugal - Spanish - Catalan - Serbian Cyrillic - Serbian Latin - Estonian - Arabic - Greek Then some languages have been done but not up to 83 days before SFD. Those are: - German - Ukrainian - Russian - Persian And then.. the others need to be done from scratch if needed. Thank you for your help in the matter. Fred
Hi there, My SVG editing skills aren't good, I've updated the SVG for the Portuguese-Portugal language, but it seems that the resulting PNGs will be smaller than the needed 160x90 size. Maybe you can generate the 3 PNG files from it, for me? I don't seem to have permissions to upload files on the wiki page, so I'm attaching the SVG here. Hi! Your message was on 'stoppped' by the mailing list software. Surely I will. Actually I think I may have already enable Portuguese as I knew someone would do those 3 images. I'll update everything else. Thank you. Fred On 6/28/21 3:16 AM, Marcos Marado wrote:

Sure! Swedish is not available. You can find all the instructions here: https://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountDown but in short: 1. Get the English template here: https://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CountDown/en?action=AttachFile&do=get&ta... 2. Get the fonts on your system: We've used VDS Fonts and Averia fonts and SFD logo fonts (Font is Ubuntu Bold Italic: 20% tracking, 10% leading) with specific changes being: Flat-bottom and broken-barred 'f' Flat-topped 't' Straight descending 'y' more here: https://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/Logo ) 3. Then open and edit in Inkscape. 4. when all done we ll help with the wiki page Please let us know if you have specific questions. Thank you. Fred On 6/28/21 1:37 PM, Luna Jernberg wrote:

Updated the Swedish Countdown, not sure if everything is correct however, as i am not really used to translating .SVG images more used to .po, .xliff, .md files etc On Mon, Jun 28, 2021 at 9:09 AM Frederic Muller - DFF < fred@digitalfreedomfoundation.org> wrote:

Dear Luna, Sorry again, your email got caught as spam. So I looked at the SVG and I think there is a little typo in the dates for today and see you next year but apart from that it looks great. We'll generate the PNGs and upload them, will probably take a few hours. Then we would also need "Celebrate SFD with us on September 18, 2021!" (or equivalent - some translation don't actually state the year) to be translated. We'll email you when the countdown is alive and kicking! Thank you very much for your help. And that's it! Traditional Chinese is done too. We might look into this "SVG" feature again... as this is very timely to generate each PNG one by one. Thank you .. and happy SFD preparation! Fred On 6/28/21 1:35 PM, Frederic Muller - DFF wrote:

Dear all, So Thanks to Malen we've just added German and in fact we can do all existing language 98 images in a blast.. that is until we have 01, 00 and 00here done for the year. We're looking at how to keep those dates in a csv file as it doesn't evolve too much over the years (from 15 to 21 basically). So, so far we have English - Français - Simplified Chinese - Traditional Chinese - Portuguese-Portugal - Swedish - Swahili - German completed and we only need 3 images for the followings: Serbian Cyrillic - Serbian Latin - Ukrainian - Russian - Estonian - Persian - Arabic - Greek - Portuguese-Brasil - Spanish - Catalan And then for any other new language we just need 4 svgs and we can do the rest for this year at least. We'll update the wiki on the process, maybe not today, but within 2 days I'd say. Thank you. Seems the fonts we're using doesn't really work with Russian needed letters. Could be the same issue with Ukrainian actually. I'll upload the latest SVG and would ask someone who speaks and reads Russian to take a look at it. Thank you. Fred On 7/1/21 3:00 PM, Frederic Muller - DFF wrote:

And we also did that one by ourselves. Just to be sure, maybe some Catalan reading subscribers should look at 00.png, 00here.png and 01.png to make sure we got it right. Thank you. Fred On 6/27/21 8:49 PM, Frederic Muller - DFF wrote:
