[Planning-en] Report from Lima - Peru
The event was held in Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and was attended by 60 people. The event showcased the projects of LinuxChix, Asterisk and FreeCulture.org LinuxChix (Peruvian Chapter) LinuxChix is a community for women who like Linux, and for women and men who want to support women in computing. http://www.linuxchixperu.org/ Asterisk (Peruvian Users Group) Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. It runs on Linux, BSD and MacOSX and provides all of the features you would expect from a PBX and more. Asterisk does voice over IP in many protocols, and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware. http://www.asterisk-peru.org FreeCulture.org (Peruvian Chapter) FreeCulture.org is a diverse, non-partisan group of students and young people who are working to get their peers involved in the free culture movement. http://www.freeculture.org Some statistics: Duration: 2:30pm -4:30pm Speakers: 2 from Asterisk, 4 from LinuxChix, 1 from FreeCulture.org People: 60 visitors Material Distributed: Ubuntu CDs, Creative Commons DVDs, Wired CDs, CC stickers, Ubuntu stickers, CC pins.
