-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everyone In preparation for Software Freedom Day I am trying to reach as many people as possible but at the same time consolidating and reducing my reliance on non-free / SaaS-only social networks. Among the many questions we anticipate when people discover Free Software, I expect to be ask what exists to replace Facebook / G+ / etc. Although JoinDiaspora.com is described as alpha, it works well for most of my needs now. Combined with identi.ca and http://www.brdcst.it it lets me reach as many people as I want with minimum effort and without loosing control of my data. JoinDiaspora.com *alpha* can only be joined if you have an invite from someone already on it, the current invitation on the site is for beta only. So if someone wants to join, just ask me off-list, make sure you specify your email (even if you're posting from it) and I'll send an invite. Then you can follow the #SFD tag there: https://joindiaspora.com/tags/SFD ...and most importantly, invite more people to help testing/improve Diaspora. I am aware there has been some controversy on how Diaspora started and how it is developped. I personally think trying these tools even though they may fail or not go through achieving their full potential is valuable, if only ot learn from mistakes and problems - and if it works for me, I can live with the criticism. Any and all suggestions welcome, and if you already are on joindiaspora.com, I am magicfab@joindiaspora.com there: https://joindiaspora.com/u/magicfab Cheers, - -- Fabian Rodriguez http://libreplanet.org/wiki/User:MagicFab http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2011/Canada/Montreal Help us invite other Canadian people hold an event on SFD: http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CanadaInvitations -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: PGP/Mime available upon request Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk5OTy8ACgkQfUcTXFrypNVHtgCgpS3wSBdnSNtIfS7CapqkZHqJ kmEAoOi9ABdhXepQgEjHGvLP8Pb6WPzp =huKM -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
