Debian events at Software Freedom Day
Hi all SFDers :) During the upcoming SFD celebrations, supporters of the Debian project will be joining the parties worldwide with Debian-related talks/events. For example, talks by Debian Developers will be held in Italy and Brazil. In order to give even more press coverage to the SFD, the Debian Publicity Team is planning a press release about the SFD and Debian-related topics. We'd like to be notified about any such events that is going to happen during your local SFD, and receive info about it! The goal is to have a raw collection of Debian-events for a press release on our site shortly before the SFD (hopefully)... Thanks for your help, and have a nice SFD :) Cheers, Luca -- .''`. | ~<[ Luca BRUNO ~ (kaeso) ]>~ : :' : | Email: lucab (AT) debian.org ~ Debian Developer `. `'` | GPG Key ID: 0x3BFB9FB3 ~ Free Software supporter `- | HAM-radio callsign: IZ1WGT ~ Networking sorcerer

Hey Luca, Thought we'd let you know of our Software Freedom Day event happening in Rugby, UK: http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2012/UK/Rugby/Rugby%20Linux%20Users%20Gro... The wiki page is slightly out of date, but here are the Debian-specific bits! - Our event has a less formal structure, instead of talks we're running a series of rolling workshops that visitors can drop in and out of including Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Scratch - One of our SFD2012 event partners in the UK is credativ (credativ.co.uk / credativ.de), who employ several DDs worldwide and who have supported all Rugby SFD events to date. We should have at least one DD present on the day - almost all Linux-based machines being used on the day for visitors will be running Debian or a Debian-derived distribution (Ubuntu 12.04 for example). - On the day we'll have a FreedomBox for visitors to check out - Our Raspberry Pi machines will be running Raspbian and we'll be using them to help local children and parents learn Scratch Hope this provides some useful information for your press release! Thanks, Nick Morrott Rugby Linux Users Group Rugby Software Freedom Day 2012
