Hi all, If SFI had stuck to its knitting and original focus, could SFD have continued with its excellent and growing promotional format? The peak seems to have passed, nonetheless. Regards Rik Tindall New Zealand

Hi! Thank you for your comment. I'm a bit sad that we have a different view on the situation. I actually do visit (and sometimes even participate in) hackerspaces, free culture events or "open education" and Free Software is definitely not something that most organizers/participants have in mind. Therefore SFD have never been for them. We think that pushing the focus on those activities and bringing in FOSS also has an impact on those communities. At the same time if your group is involved in any of those, it's definitely welcome to promote and encourage during SFD. At least you've now heard what we think about it, if we never communicated about it before. Thanks. Fred
Hi! Yes, HFD is planned for January 17th, and EFD March 21st. You can find the dates on http://www.digitalfreedomfoundation.org/ Fred On 08/18/2014 10:21 PM, Paulo Henrique Santana wrote:
