Team supplies for Software Freedom Day
Hello SFD'ers, Apologies for the delay since the last communication from SFD Central - unfortunately good weather during the summer (for us up in the northern hemisphere) has got in the way of getting things done. Our major news is that we have recently sent emails to all team leaders who managed to register before the team supplies shipping deadline, informing them what they'll be getting in their team supply packs. If you have received such an email (check your spam folder just in case!), that means that you should start receiving schwag any day now. If you have not received such an email, it is probably because you registered after the shipping deadline (and therefore we didn't ask for your postal address, so we have no idea where you live and can't send you anything anyway). A big vote of thanks is due to our sponsors for making the team supplies shipments possible: * Canonical <http://www.canonical.com/> (the folks who bring you Ubuntu) * Google <http://code.google.com/opensource/> * DKUUG <http://www.dkuug.dk/> (the Danish Unix User Group) * Fedora <http://fedoraproject.org/>/Red Hat with additional support from * Linux Magazine <http://www.linux-magazine.com/>, our International Media Sponsor * Linode <http://www.linode.com/>, our tech guys * Zac-ware <http://www.zac-ware.com/products/freeway/> * the Free Software Foundation<http://www.fsf.org/> You can now also join the ranks of sponsors of Software Freedom Day by buying from our online store <http://sfd.openfreeway.org/index.php?cPath=5>(provided by the guys at Zac-ware). We have SFD '09 shirts available, as well as a limited number of collectable SFD '08 shirts. Prices vary from US$9 upwards depending on how many you order. Get yours now before supplies run out! 32 days to go! Robert President, Software Freedom International
Hello, It's really good news, that supply packs is ready. But how to know that team can get it? PS: I registered our team (europe/russia/saratov) before deadline and fill my address, but don't receive email for getting team supply pack. And I don't know what can I do now. I have some questions with no answer for registration at past: http://mail.sf-day.org/pipermail/sfd-discuss/2009-June/001018.html http://mail.sf-day.org/pipermail/sfd-discuss/2009-August/001052.html -- Sin (Sinelnikov Evgeny)
hi! Obviously there's been a glitch on our side. Please send me your name, address and phone number off the list and we'll send you a team pack. Fred SFD Evgeny Sinelnikov wrote:

Same here with Baguio City, Philippines. (/baguio). I've double-checked my inbox and spam, but I didn't get a confirmation email considering that we've registered our group way before the deadline. Frederic Muller wrote:

Hello Frederic, could you also check what happened to our registration? Thanks -- Dax Solomon Umaming http://blog.knightlust.com/
Hi! First it's a bit late to 'wake up' (since everything is already in the hands of the courier company) but under which email did you register your team? We can discuss the details off the list. Similarly I will need proof that you did register before the deadline (after you give me the email you used) Thanks Fred Dax Solomon Umaming wrote:

Hello Robert, We're so pleased to celebrate Software freedom day in our community, the first of its kind in our country. We are trying our best to get the necessary support from universities, schools and the government. The band width in our country is so low that it's simply impossible to download big software. So, I'd really appreciate if you could send us some copies of Ubuntu, OpenOffice.org and other free and open source software. our team page: http://softwarefreedomday.org/teams/africa/Ethiopia/mit_foss_group regards, asmelash On Tue, Aug 18, 2009 at 6:24 PM, Edgar Hoffmann<kontakt@freiesoftwareog.org> wrote:

Dear Asmelash, In order to receive the team pack you had to register before July 19th, and it's now unfortunately too late. We can only recommend you to mark the date (around May - June) in your calendar for next year. Maybe you can find resources in-country within the month to come. Good luck with your event. Dear Fred, Thank you for your response! We will try our best with the resources we have and hope to make it a remarkable event for our community. Hayat, Thank you for correcting me! When registering our team, I looked for a team that celebrates sfd in Ethiopia, and couldn't find any. Still there is no any other team in the teams section of the sfd wiki that is celebrating sdf in Ethiopia this year, unless it has put its presence somewhere else. That's why I said the first of its kind In our country. As I see it from the website you mentioned, it was celebrated in 2006. Good! What about this year? Are you celebrating the event? If you could assist us in any way I'd really appreciate it. peace, asmelash On 8/19/09, Frederic Muller <fred@beijinglug.org> wrote:
