SFD-Items received
Hello. We just received the package from china. Many thanks. We are just printing our leaflets to hang out all over our town... By the way: Why was the design (logo and font) of the buttons/T-Shirts changed? Now there is a "break" in SFD's CI. Nevertheless we will have a great day (hopefully our visitors too...) I, for one, would also like to welcome my new SFD-labeled, packaged in China t-shirty and baloony overlords. ;) More seriously, package received intact, everything AOK. Thanks a lot! Cheers! Mike "rysiek" Woźniak BRAMA Laboratory, Warsaw University of Technology

CI? We were trying to do something different thinking it would be the right way to go. Would people prefer we kept the same branding year to year? Hi Pia, Our team much prefers the new design over the last years, not having the date on the stickers and badges makes them re-usable throughout the year and they don't go out of date when spread around ;) If you're going to keep a design this years is much more funky and friendly. It is a major concern that numerous SFD groups are being coerced out money for the Canonical and SFD packages - either for "customs" charges or by the courier (DHL). When declaring a value why not make it $0.01 for the entire package not Euro0.26 per CD as is currently stated by Canonical. It needs to be clearly stated on the package that no customs or additional charges are due. :( -- Steve Computer Support Officer P/T Teacher Information Technology P/T Arts & IT Faculty Bathurst TAFE NSW Western Institute Phone: 02 6338 2450 email: steve@bathurst-tafe.nsw.edu.au .... _ ... Hello Pia. Sure, you're right to keep the event fresh and new every year. The theme is the same as last year, so CI (Corporate Identity) is not completely "cut off". I'm working in the marketing-department of a huge Retailer, so don't take my opinion too seriously (marketing people are a bit, well, -special...) Hi all, We recieved the items (only 2 tshirts instead of 3 :( ) apart from that everything went swell. We are doing a small event inside our company, just asking people and their friends to come by (low-profile) Slight criticism 1. Find the color too bright, too loud 2. Too much stuff written on the backside. Unlike the document freedom day t-shirt which one can wear everyday, this one would be a taxing both for the wearer and people who see. A more subdued tones and hues would have been lot better. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal This email is licensed under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17
Dear Shirish, We packed each teams ourselves hand by hand and I can assure you everyone got 3 T-Shirts minimum. If one T-shirt is missing someone must have stolen it on the way (maybe customs?). Color choice and country list was done purposely that way to make you stand out in the crowd. It is also important to let people know how many countries celebrate SFD each year. Now you can also do like we did in Beijing last year, find sponsors and print your own T-shirts to give away to your visitors. This will bring local SFD flavored t-shirts that better match your perception of 'beautiful'. You're your only limit, everything is possible if you really want it. Thanks. Hello list, I have a poor regard for indian customs agency.. In SFD 2006, they looted 2 shirts which was couriered by SFD. I really feel ashamed to say this being an Indian. Corrupted to the core, these guyz are. That made me to think and take a resolution of not asking/accepting anything from SFD for reasons of the luggage lifters/ poor beggars/steallers who are employed in the custom department. with distress, Thyagarajan Shanmugham
