Re: [SFD-discuss] official SFD2011 DVDs are available via torrent for testing
Hi, I had not subscribed my send address properly, to I'm late sending this, my apologies, still seems a valid question though: ---------
Details and torrent file is on http://www.navratil.cz/SFD2011/
Are they the same as the 3 DVDs in the team packs ? What size are the 3 files in bytes ? Cound you add that byte size to web page please ? I read my 3 DVDs in with dd if=/dev/acd0 bs=32k of=image.iso & got different MD5s as seen on my http://berklix.org/sfd/media/ I thought 32K was the minimum for DVDs just as 2K is minimum for CDROMs, I re-read mine with 2K. On all 3 DVDs, I get exactly the same byte size & MD5 with bs=2k as I got before with bs=32k. Did you perhaps use too large a block size ie bs=64k or so to read yours ? That would have appended nulls on yours & different MD5 for FreeCulture.iso with 141269+0 * 32k would then bloat from 4629102592 to eg: dc 141269 2 / 1 + 64 1024 * * p 4629135360 Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey, BSD Unix Linux C Sys Eng Consultants Munich http://berklix.com Reply below, not above; Indent with "> "; Cumulative like a play script. yes, I created these from original DVDs, only added labels and other meta info when creating ISOs
What size are the 3 files in bytes ?
4629086208 SFD2011FreeCulture.iso 3724371968 SFD2011FreeDistro.iso 2438195200 SFD2011OpenDisc.iso

I will do that today.

dd not work for DVDs, I had to create them from content with mkisofs to compare content, diff can be used diff -r /media/originalDVD /media/downloadedDVD (loopback with downloaded file will be helpfull here) Thank you, Jiri
