Re: [SFD-discuss] SFD-discuss Digest, Vol 105, Issue 1
I don't always have CDs available for Software Freedom Day or our local school district Tech Conference. If I have a few available, I'll typically give them away as prizes. I tell the participants they can download their own and give them links to do so. I put together a page of Open Source resources and update the links every year. I include CD collections and articles on how to make CD disk covers, cross-platform Open Source software, links to our local users groups, links to web based Open Source resources/applications, portable apps, Creative Commons multimedia links and other related information. I've posted a copy of this year's page minus the local user's groups here in case anyone's interested: http://www.distasis.com/cpp/pbtc.htm At some point (maybe next year's Software Freedom Day), I'd like to put together my own CD collection of Open Source programs. I have a number of cross-platform Open Source programs I build from source that are lightweight and hard to find in most Linux distributions or on Windows. Sincerely, Laura
