Does anyone have a 700MB ISO of the OpenDisc or has created something similar? The project has moved to 1.3GB DVDs but we'd like to give out CDs. cheers, Sameer -- Dr. Sameer Verma, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Information Systems Director, Center for Business Solutions San Francisco State University http://verma.sfsu.edu/ http://cbs.sfsu.edu/ http://is.sfsu.edu/

WLUG dropped Wesnoth and added scorched, lincityng and freeciv which makes the CD just about dead-on 700M. I'd love to share but at the speed of my broadband the upload wouldn't be finished until after SFD anyhow. It was pretty easy to shuffle stuff around anyhow, just copy one of the existing html files and edit it for any new programs you add. 2009/9/16 Sameer Verma <sverma@sfsu.edu>:

What did you use to reshuffle? Or did you unpack and rebuild the ISO? Sameer

extracted it to the desktop (the feature is built into Jaunty's Nautilus) edited it in quantaplus, rebuilt it with genisofs, then tested it with an XP machine in Virtualbox. Basically no non-free software was involved other than for testing purposes ;) 2009/9/16 Sameer Verma <sverma@sfsu.edu>:

If there is demand, I can host the ISO at a professional hosting service with very good connectivity, assuming Bruce can upload it via FTP or SCP. Visvanath
Far too late now I think. I might get it uploaded in time (probably not, my upload speed is very low) but nobody would have time left to download it and burn CDs. Next year I aim to have our own DVD similar to OpenDisc but with a lot more content, and possibly support for OSX as well. I'll be sure to have that available several weeks in advance. Next year will also be an LTS year so we'll get an extra large order of Ubuntu CDs too! 2009/9/17 Visvanath Ratnaweera <visvanath@ratnaweera.net>:
