Re: [SFD-discuss] [SFD-announce] SFD 2013 registration is now ON!
Hi Frederic,
The deadline for registered teams to get the free goodies is July 21st which should give us enough time to ship everything everywhere. Simply create your team page under http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2013 (/country/city/team for most) and complete the form on http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/cgi-bin/register.py. All information and links are of course available from the SFD website.
I have gone through this process and registered a team for Melbourne, Australia. This will be the third year in succession that I've been the organiser for Melbourne (so anyone on this list who wants to take over, please contact me!). Something unusual happened at the end of the process. In completing the registration, I received the message: "The email address you supplied does not match the supplied SFD wiki login, you need to provide the email you used when creating your SFD Wiki account. Please go back." Double-checking the account on the SFD Wiki, this is certainly *not* the case. Could you please confirm that the Melbourne AU team has been registered as requested? Hi! Your registration form hasn't been submitted because obviously there was an error processing it. I've check your wiki name (page history) and the email on file, it does match the one you're using to send this email. Note that wiki login are case sensitive in the form too (maybe that could help), else I can't see any reason why it wouldn't have validated your email and wiki name. So to speed up thing I can offer a few options: - trying to resubmit the form (not sure how many times you've tried that though) - using last year data which we have on file. I would still need the confirmation about the location though, but if address & phone number is the same (and we have it) that could work too - send me your new data through private email and I'll do the filling myself (that should work, if it's me doing it right? ;-) ). So just let us know which option suits you and we will proceed. Note that you still need to create your team/event page, but that couldn't have been the failure reason. Thanks and sorry for the problem. As a side note we're working on a rewriting this part of the software, obviously won't work this year but we hope it will provide a better and faster experience for the years to come. Fred

Same data as last year. For delivery of SFD material for some 25 people send to: Lev Lafayette VPAC 1st Floor Bld 91 110 Victoria Street Carlton, Victoria, 3053 Australia He's some background on our event last year: http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/2012/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/SFDMelb... I should lay claim to the slogan: "A Free lunch with open sauce". :) Thanks for the speedy reply! -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GCertPM, MBA mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt

Shall I copy last year team page and adapt it to reflect 2013, your team page is still missing? Thanks. Fred

No thank you. I've set up the Australia/Victoria and Australia/Melbourne which should be sufficient for now. -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GCertPM, MBA mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt

Unfortunately no, you still need a page for your team/event. That's done to give the possibility for other teams to organize their own event in the same city. I understand that in some places it might not make sense but it's a courtesy we should all give in. A generic SFD page under Melbourne can fit pretty well. You're free to set up whatever title and team name you want in the text of course. Fred
